Autonomy's Video Management System (VMS) is based on the Digital and Network Video Recording (DVR and NVR) product suite. VMS offers a range of high quality enterprise-level digital video recorders with advanced remote access capabilities.
Autonomy VMS offers you the flexibility to expand your system as your needs change, offering large system capabilities and a simple upgrade path. A one-camera system can be expanded in a modular fashion to support a ramp up to unlimited inputs per system.
Compatible with all industry standard compression technology, Autonomy offers industry leading performance. The system delivers synchronous record, replay, and archive with capture at up to full frame rate on all channels simultaneously. Autonomy VMS outperforms the competition in both analogue and digital arenas.
Totally flexible system configuration allows you to tailor VMS to the widest range of applications. Any combination of recording types can be used: triggered event, pre-post event, snapshot, time-lapse, and pre-scheduled recording.
Autonomy also provides flexible remote surveillance capabilities, offering auto dial-out on alarm, dial-in, or continuous image transmission—all across wide or local area networks. Live images can be retrieved and reviewed and system parameters can be configured and diagnosed remotely.
A range of capabilities deliver the following advantages:
High quality MJPEG, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.263, and H.264 images
Remote retrieval and transmission with alarm dial-out
Combinations of continuous, event, and scheduled recording
Full triplex: synchronous record, replay, and archive
Full frame rate recording on all channels simultaneously
All standard storage platforms supported
Archive/backup to CD, DVD, or USB
Intelligent video motion detection
Simple to use interface
Modular design for enterprise systems, scalable up to 65,000 cameras
Sophisticated automatic data and alarm handling
Fully integrated analytics
Total Recording Flexibility
Autonomy's VMS system offers greater flexibility by allowing recording at any image update rate, from under one frame a second time-lapse, to a full frame rate on each camera. Choose any combination of continuous, scheduled, event-triggered (with pre-event), and snapshot recording. Autonomy can store recorded images directly to disc, with storage capacity and duration configurable for all applications. Multiple circular buffers allow images from selected cameras to be stored for different periods. For longer-term storage, backup/archive media can be selected to best match operational requirements. Selecting from CD, DVD, or USB hard drive allows the system to be tailored to suit your exact requirements.
Intelligent Video Motion Detection
The VMS system includes sophisticated video motion detection capabilities and is designed for external as well as internal applications. It offers a level of sophistication and resilience to false alarms, previously associated only with costly task-specific devices.
Networking
The VMS system incorporates the most versatile remote access facilities available today. Remote locations can be monitored via dial-in or automatic dial-out on alarm. Once accessed, live images can be monitored, and recorded images can be retrieved and reviewed. Remote relays offer the facility to control items such as barriers or building management systems. For projects with more than one site, multi-site prioritization ensures that key locations or events always gain monitoring priority. Autonomy remote facilities can operate over a host of communication networks, including broadband, ISDN, GSM, intranet, and internet.
Alarm Data Handling
Image recording can be linked directly with incoming data streams. Keywords, numbers, or sequences can activate image capture. Images can be retrieved quickly using date, time, and camera information or other associated data fields.
Dynamic PTZ
Autonomy supports drivers for a host of standard commercially available telemetry, allowing organizations to deploy simple, cost-effective, and fully functional cameras at remote locations. Automatic control of PTZ cameras can also be tied into alarm activity.
VMS Applications
Autonomy's VMS suits a wide range of applications in the retail, security, and financial arenas. In retail applications, Autonomy can help prevent shrinkage and protect staff by monitoring merchandising space and cashbox transactions, as well as exposed areas such as cash offices, stock rooms, and parking lots.
Autonomy VMS can be deployed to facilitate security at gas stations by linking captured images with EPOS data and number plate recognition data to prevent drive-off crime.
Already successful with financial institutions, Autonomy provides an advanced security solution for monitoring all forms of branch activity and cash machine transactions. The need of corporate properties can be met by Autonomy large system solutions. In towns, shopping centers, sports arenas, and leisure locations, Autonomy VMS allows large numbers of cameras to be recorded, monitored, and intelligently managed using one powerful system. By simplifying operator interaction, deployed CCTV can be exploited more effectively. For utilities and transportation networks, Autonomy represents a cost-effective solution to the management of remote CCTV deployed over a wide area.
