BODEN TO LEVERAGE AUTONOMY OPTIMOST'S REVENUE OPTIMIZATION PLATFORM INTERNATIONALLY
Autonomy Optimost to Boost Boden's Online Presence Globally Following Impressive Results on its UK and USA Websites
Cambridge, England and SAN FRANCISCO - April 6, 2011 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that the leading online and mail-order clothing retailer, Boden, has chosen to transform and optimize its global web presence by leveraging Autonomy Optimost's meaning-based revenue optimization platform across all of its websites. The initiative comes as a result of the outstanding bottom-line improvements already achieved through the implementation of Autonomy Optimost on Boden's websites in the UK and USA.
Founded in 1991, Boden is an award-winning, UK-based clothing retailer with operations throughout Europe and the United States. The company's various websites allow customers to place direct orders online and constitute Boden's main revenue channel. In 2009, in the face of an increasingly competitive industry landscape, Boden selected Autonomy's end-to-end revenue optimization platform to enhance customer engagement and boost the conversion rates on its two largest websites, www.boden.co.uk for the UK and www.bodenusa.com for the USA. The Autonomy Optimost solution was selected due to its ease of use, minimal reliance on IT support and ability to perform advanced intelligent analytics for maximum business results.
Boden uses Autonomy Optimost's Multivariable Testing (MVT) solution to test virtually limitless permutations of web content and layout of the Boden websites in real-time and identify the versions which optimize customer behavior online. The solution optimizes virtually every online marketing element, including landing pages, registration pages, shopping carts, credit card pages, banner ads, email creatives, and Web applications, as well as every content type within them, including headlines, copy, forms, images, and rich media. Delivering revenue optimization, advanced analytics and enhanced customer engagement, Boden has experienced a dramatic and measurable improvement in the bottom-line performance of its UK and USA sites. In just one of many recent tests, Boden saw an increase of over 4.5% in revenue per visitor. Implementing Autonomy Optimost's revenue optimization solution on all its current international sites will enable Boden to extend the benefits of MVT across to its entire online presence.
"Testing through Autonomy Optimost has enabled us to remove any doubt as to which online creative and navigation performs the best and delivers the biggest commercial uplift. Through a process of listening, testing and improving we have been able to develop a much clearer understanding of our customers' preferences and behaviour," said Mark Batty, eCommerce Manager at Boden. "The Optimost solution has truly exceeded our expectations in terms of the revenue uplift we have seen from tests on the website, so rolling the technology out across all our international sites was the logical choice for us. We look forward to repeating and improving on these impressive results in our international markets."
"With a proven track record as the industry's leading solution, Autonomy Optimost excels in enabling companies to transform their online presence by automatically identifying and executing the most optimal marketing strategy based on a deep understanding of customer interactions," said James Murray, Vice President of Autonomy Promote solutions EMEA. "Our revenue optimization platform not only gets the job done, in terms of increasing conversion rates, but fundamentally revolutionizes retailers' marketing approach, from being organization-driven to becoming customer-centric. We are delighted that we will be making this a reality for Boden worldwide."
