AUTONOMY STRENGTHENS POSITION AS THE DE FACTO STANDARD FOR GLOBAL LAW FIRMS

Powers 75 of the Global 100 Law Firms and 10 of 10 Top US Law Firms; Entire iManage Product Suite Integrated with Meaning Based Computing Platform

ILTA 2009, WASHINGTON, D.C. - Aug. 26, 2009 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that it has recently won a series of competitive conversions and new deals with some of the most prestigious law firms in the world, including Akin Gump, CMS Cameron McKenna, DLA, Freshfields, Linklaters, Manatt, Phelps & Philips, Ropes & Gray, White & Case, among many others. Autonomy has become the de facto standard for global law firms, powering the world's largest law firms including 75 of the Global 100 law firms and 10 of 10 top US law firms.

Since the completion of Autonomy's acquisition of Interwoven in March 2009, the company has seamlessly integrated IDOL into the entire iManage product suite, including: iManage WorkSite, iManage Universal Search and iManage RecordsManager. These applications enable law firms to automatically understand the meaning, analyze, and act on all forms of information, enhancing their ability to serve their clients. In addition, Autonomy has also unveiled many advanced functionalities and milestones that further optimize all of its iManage products for global law firms. For example:

New intelligent connectors for iManage Universal Search that provide out-of-the-box connectivity to three widely used legal applications, including the LexisNexis InterAction CRM System, as well as more than 10 legal-specific research sites, such as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Advanced Expertise Location function for iManage Universal Search.
Mobile document management capabilities (an iPhone application) for iManage WorkSite.
The world's most advanced audio processing solution for iManage WorkSite and Universal Search that provides lawyers with unprecedented access to all audio assets on a single platform, including voicemails to and from clients, depositions, and podcasts or audio recordings for continuing legal education (CLE).
Integration with Autonomy's award-winning workflow solution with iManage WorkSite (iManage Workflow Manager) that enables customers to leverage a single unified approach for document and process management and provides customers with the ability to automate and streamline their document-centric business processes, such as new matter intake, conflict check, document review and approval, correspondence tracking, new employee or lateral hire workflow, contract management, or new client intake.
Reached a major milestone for the world's largest managed data archive with 10 petabytes under management.

"Having a single unified approach for managing ESI in litigation or eDiscovery - early case assessment, work in process, knowledge management - has been the Holy Grail that the legal industry has been seeking for a long time," said Laura Bandrowsky, Practice Support Director for Duane Morris LLP. "We view Autonomy as a strategic partner that provides a comprehensive set of information management and eDiscovery solutions - all based on a common platform. This makes it simpler for our lawyers to manage their clients' ESI, while reducing IT complexity. We are pleased to see Autonomy's track record of innovation and execution, as well as their continued commitment to helping legal professionals help their clients."

"Today our company has several thousand users worldwide accessing tens of millions of documents using Autonomy iManage WorkSite powered by IDOL," said Don Jaycox, Chief Information Officer, US at DLA Piper. "The speed with which Autonomy has integrated the IDOL technology into WorkSite is impressive, and as a result we can now leverage WorkSite on a much larger scale than ever before for applications beyond document management, including email and records management."

"Managing unstructured data efficiently is critical to the operations of a law firm. Having a powerful information processing engine at the foundation of WorkSite not only increases the benefits from our existing technology investments but also opens up many new possibilities to use technology and automation to improve efficiency, productivity and client service," commented Daniel Pollick, Chief Information Officer, EMEA and APAC at DLA Piper.

Autonomy provides both law firms and corporate legal departments with the most comprehensive set of information management and eDiscovery solutions, allowing them to collaborate and understand the information in their organizations. With Autonomy, law firms can quickly and easily assist their clients and identify the potentially relevant information, perform litigation holds and notification, and preserve the content in-place for later collection. In addition, with Autonomy IDOL as a common platform, law firms and their corporate clients can gain a distinct advantage by leveraging powerful, familiar tools. This highly secure platform allows the firm and clients to link together, seamlessly share data between their organizations and keep ahead of aggressive case timelines for achieving a strategic edge.

"Autonomy is redefining how law firms and legal departments manage content, as law firms continue to standardize on our advanced platform for multiple applications," said Anthony Bettencourt, CEO of Autonomy iManage. "Autonomy has clearly become the biggest and most strategic technology provider to the legal industry. In addition to leveraging our solutions to improve productivity and profitability, law firms are now working with Autonomy to create new lines of revenue via practice areas that help their clients to reduce litigation and eDiscovery risk and cost."

Autonomy is showcasing its industry-leading solutions for the legal market at the ILTA 2009 Conference in the Washington, DC area. Conference attendees can find Autonomy and Autonomy iManage at booths 517, 519, 521, 523, 525.
