AUTONOMY LAUNCHES AUTOMATIC SPOKEN LANGUAGE IDENTIFICATION MODULE

Expands Its World Leading Range of Intelligent Audio Analytics Solutions

Cambridge, UK and SAN FRANCISCO - August 24, 2009 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that it has added spoken language identification technology to its world leading range of intelligent audio analytics solutions. The Automatic Spoken Language Identification module will enable call centres, media organizations and global enterprises to instantly recognize the spoken language in various media files as well as live phone conversations and recordings and take action upon this understanding automatically and in real-time.

Thus, for example, the new module will enable the multi-lingual call centre to automatically identify the spoken language and route calls to the relevant agent and media professionals to categorize media files by the language spoken in them. Organizations can quickly and effortlessly add new languages without the need to create a complete speech-to-text system for that language, and extract voice from the audio channel, splitting a recording into discrete speech and music clips. Broadcasters and news editors can navigate through the audio stream and access pertinent content in an efficient and nuisance-free manner.

"The exponential proliferation of audio files has presented organizations with the daunting challenge of processing this traditionally unwieldy asset as quickly and as easily as text," said Andrew Joiner, CEO of Autonomy Customer Interactions Solutions. "Autonomy's range of meaning-based audio analytics solutions is second to none. The Automatic Spoken Language Identification module is uniquely robust to media type and compression formats, computationally efficient and easy to use, enabling organizations to boost efficiency while cutting costs to achieve genuine ROI."

The new Automatic Spoken Language Identification module is available now.
