Cambridge, UK and SAN FRANCISCO - August 12, 2009 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that its customer, Discovery Communications, has won the 15th Annual Communicator Award of Excellence for its Autonomy Interwoven-powered web site, www.planetgreen.com. The Communicator Awards, presented by the International Academy of Visual Arts, is the leading international awards program honoring creative excellence for Communications Professionals. The Award of Excellence, the Award's highest honor category, is given to those entries whose ability to communicate puts them among the best in the field. Discovery Communications, a long-standing customer of Autonomy Interwoven, is being recognized for its ability to deliver a compelling online experience for visitors of Planetgreen.com.

The International Academy of the Visual Arts is an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, communications, advertising, creative and marketing firms. IAVA members include executives from organizations such as Alloy, Brandweek, Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, Fry Hammond Barr, HBO, Monster.com, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby's Institute of Art, Victoria's Secret, Wired, and Yahoo!

Discovery Communications has implemented Autonomy Interwoven's TeamSite to power its web site, planetgreen.com, the online extension of Discovery's Planet Green network, expanding its audience reach by providing a compelling and engaging online experience to the community of environmental enthusiasts that visit its web site every day. TeamSite allows planetgreen.com's writers and contributors to easily create and deploy content, as well as push content to its various web pages.

"Autonomy Interwoven's products enable us to create a rich online experience. This allows us to maximize the compelling content on our broadcast channel by building a vibrant community online for individuals who are passionate about the environment," said Ken Rother, Vice President of Digital Media at Planet Green.

"With Autonomy Interwoven, we provide our web producers with a technical platform that allows them to post fresh content quickly, and dynamically surface related content to engage viewers and help turn visitors into registered active community members," added Jamey Jeff, Vice President of Interactive Technology at Discovery Communications.

"We would like to extend our congratulations to Discovery Communications for receiving this well-deserved recognition," said Anthony Bettencourt, CEO of Autonomy Interwoven. "This award is a strong validation for how Autonomy's technology can power engaging, next-generation websites that give like-minded communities a platform for sharing interests and ideas. We are honored to be a part of this innovative project."
