AUTONOMY VIRAGE'S VS ARCHIVE SOLUTION NOW INTEGRATED WITH INDUSTRY-STANDARD VIDEO EDITING TECHNOLOGIES

Delivers Integration with Avid's Media Composer Through Strategic Partnerships with X-ART and Marquis Broadcast

The NAB SHOW™, LAS VEGAS - April 21, 2009 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that its Virage VS Archive solution is now integrated with industry-leading editing and production solutions, including Avid's Media Composer, through Autonomy Virage's strategic partnerships with X-ART and Marquis Broadcast.

Autonomy Virage's VS Archive is a rich media management solution that efficiently stores, categorizes, manages, retrieves, and distributes video, audio, and other rich media content within the enterprise. Powered by Autonomy's Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL), VS Archive provides users with the ability to not only search videos and audio streams by concept, key frame, speaker, face and more, it also provides them with real time alerts to conceptually relevant rich media assets in a single, intuitive user interface. VS Archive is the only technology available on the market today that allows users to search foreign multimedia in their native language, while automatically generating real-time translations of the audio streams.

VS Archive's bi-directional integration with the most widely used editing and production solutions, such as Avid Media Composer, embeds the Virage technology into the workflow of video editing, re-purposing and syndication for broadcast and media environments. This significantly improves the efficiency of the video production process by ensuring quick and easy transfer of the asset and all relevant meta-data across the entire pre-post production workflow and thus enhances the collaboration between content creators and business users of these high value rich media assets. It also provides VS Archive's customers with seamless flow of high resolution and proxy video assets.

"Video assets are becoming increasingly important for many types of businesses. This means they need to be classified and understood as early in the production process as possible so marketers can leverage more effectively, and content producers and business users can collaborate more efficiently," said Marc Geall, CEO of Autonomy Virage. "The challenge is that these assets have traditionally been regarded as unwieldy resources, requiring significant investment to store and maintain. Autonomy Virage's VS Archive helps corporations to digitize, categorize, centrally manage and distribute vast collections of media content quickly and efficiently. We are pleased to partner with X-ART and Marquis Broadcast to provide our customers with effective integration to the industry-standard video editing and production solutions to allow them to maximize the value of their rich media assets."

Autonomy will be showcasing the Virage VS Archive solution at the NAB show in Las Vegas (booth number: SU9917) from April 20 to 23, 2009. Please visit www.autonomy.com/virage to learn more.
