Interwoven Embraced By Leading Scandinavian Law Firms

Top Ten Law Firms in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland Tap Interwoven to Support Growth, Global Competitiveness and Regulatory Compliance

London - January 20, 2009 - Interwoven (NASDAQ: IWOV), a global leader in content management solutions, today announced that it is gaining strong momentum in Scandinavia, as several leading law firms in the region have recently selected Interwoven to support their information management and governance needs. In times of economic uncertainty, resourceful companies recognize the need to improve operating efficiencies. Interwoven WorkSite is helping these Scandinavian-based firms to capture, organize, and share their business-critical content, making them more efficient and better positioned to manage both economic challenges and growth.

In the last six months, Interwoven WorkSite has been chosen by four law firms in the region. Interwoven now has over 13 prestigious legal customers in Scandinavia, including Advokatfirman Lindahl KB and Advokatfirman Cederquist in Sweden and Simonsen Advokatfirma in Norway.

"Information management and governance is becoming increasingly complex, and firms are in need of a mechanism for capturing and organizing all their matter content," said Chris Junker, vice president and general manager, professional services industry solutions at Interwoven. "In good times, but even more so when faced with a challenging economic environment, efficiency is paramount to managing an effective business. We're pleased that our solutions are playing such a vital role for these Scandinavian law firms."

Interwoven has worked closely with its partners in the Scandinavian region to ensure that customers receive consultancy and experience that is based on detailed knowledge of the local market, compliance requirements and cultures.

Anders Naucler, Knowledge Manager of Cederquist, who signed a contract with Interwoven in June this year, explains: "When choosing a content management system, Interwoven stood out for its track record in Scandinavia - it has a good number of implementations under its belt - and a strong understanding of our market and needs. We've gone live with the installation and lawyers and support staff can find any document or email they need in a matter of seconds. During the coming months this will have a huge impact on productivity and also on staff motivation."

A key solution for 2009

Interwoven WorkSite captures content from a wide variety of sources - both paper and electronic records. Email traffic, in particular, has been growing exponentially and is set to continue to do so. According to analyst firm IDC, 97 billion emails were sent daily last year leading to employees spending up to two hours a day just receiving and sending emails. Effective email management is therefore key to improving employee productivity.

Stephen Murphy, sales director for Interwoven in EMEA explains: "Email traffic is like global warming - it is always growing faster than even the predictions. Many of our customers in the Scandinavian region were using legacy systems bought over five years ago that did not offer enough functionality to tame the email monster we face today. But by using Interwoven WorkSite they can see a real benefit and clear return on investment for managing their emails and documents. As the importance of email only increases, we expect this trend to continue in 2009 and beyond".

Ole Kristian Dommerud, IT Manager at Thommessen said, "We are very pleased to have partnered with Interwoven as we believe they will provide us with the flexibility and efficiency that we were looking for. We felt that WorkSite would be easier, faster and less costly to move to than upgrading our existing system."

Interwoven partners in Scandinavia include: Hands AS, Kerfi, Morningstar Systems, Perftech and Tikit
