AUTONOMY ENTERS THE EUROPEAN PRIVATE EQUITY AND VENTURE CAPITAL ASSOCIATION'S "HALL OF FAME"
Receives Prestigious Accolade for Growing from a Start-Up to a One Billion Dollar Company in Ten Years or Less
Cambridge, UK and San Francisco, Calif. - October 21, 2008 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise today announced that it has entered the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association's (EVCA) "Hall of Fame" for being one of the rare European technology companies to grow from a start-up to a $1 billion dollar company in 10 years or less. Autonomy was recently presented with the prestigious award at the EVCA Venture Capital Forum, a yearly meeting for top venture technology professionals, attended by 400 participants from all over Europe.
With more than 1,300 members in Europe, EVCA has become the prime source for information about the venture capital and private equity industry. Since its launch in 1983, EVCA's role has been to represent the interests of the industry to regulators and standard setters. The organization has been collecting information since its launch, resulting in comprehensive data going back to 1984. It continuously monitors research conducted by third parties, to enhance the provision of up-to-date information on various market segments and regions.
