Akin Gump Switches to Interwoven for Ground-Breaking Approach to Managing Firm Content
AmLaw 100 Firm Replaces Legacy Hummingbird Implementation with Interwoven to Organize, Find, and Govern Content
SAN JOSE, Calif., - October 20, 2008 - Interwoven, Inc. (NASDAQ: IWOV), a global leader in content management solutions, today announced law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP selected the full Interwoven suite of legal industry solutions to create and deliver a unified and comprehensive information management system for its 2,400 employees in 12 offices throughout the world. Akin Gump - known for its innovation and forward-thinking - will leverage Interwoven's proven approach to drive firm productivity and growth.
In an era of exploding electronic content and global expansions, while striving to improve client service, law firms are looking to tune their working practices in ways that fundamentally make it faster and easier for fee-earners to get work done and collaborate with other fee-earners across the globe and with clients. Additionally, given the current economic climate, firms are under greater pressure to eliminate inefficiencies while driving stronger business results. Hoffman, who previously served as a Partner at KPMG LLP and managed information technology at the U.S. Department of Treasury, currently is leading an ambitious effort to make Akin Gump one of the first law firms that is completely electronic - from voicemail to working documents to records. By managing the entire lifecycle of all documents in a truly paperless environment, Akin Gump plans to gain financial efficiencies, and improve productivity and client responsiveness.
