Comet Turns to Interwoven Optimost for Web Testing

London, England - September 30, 2008 - Leading high-street electrical retailer, Comet, has turned to Interwoven, a global leader in content management solutions, to provide multivariate testing (MVT) for the Comet website. The Interwoven product won the contract in a three-way competitive pitch.

Comet will use MVT to test and optimize the basket and product pages of the site, with the emphasis on driving customer conversion rate. The company had been using focus groups and A/B testing prior to signing up Interwoven, but had found it to be too complex and time consuming.

Robbie Tutt, Web Design and Development Manager, Comet, comments: "The integration of Interwoven Optimost solution with Comet's existing infrastructure, the technology provided and their understanding of Comet's business were all major factors when choosing Interwoven. "

Multivariate testing will now become an integral part of Comet's online strategy, as Tutt adds: "The validation of the data provided means that the page layout or design is no longer down to one person's opinion but that of 300,000. MVT will now form an important part of our decision process and ensure that what's on our page is what the customers want to see."

Greg Kelton, Managing Director, Interwoven Optimost adds: "Increasingly we are seeing a cultural shift with our clients in the way they view the data collected from testing. After the initial disbelief that their opinion could be wrong, to it becoming an integral part of business and design planning. Forward looking companies, like Comet, are quick to see the benefits that MVT provides."
