FRANCE'S LEADING BROADCAST CHANNEL SELECTS AUTONOMY VIRAGE TO ORGANIZE AND MANAGE LARGE VIDEO ARCHIVE

Cambridge, UK and San Francisco, Calif. - November 28, 2007 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that M6, one of France's leading television channels and an important global media player, has chosen Autonomy's Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) platform to automatically organize and manage its extensive video archive. With the increasing volume of digital assets, M6 wanted to digitalize, organize and manage its extensive video archive, consisting of more than 200,000 video cassettes. The company needed an automated system to intelligently identify the content of each cassette, so that it could quickly decide whether a tape should be stored and filed or destroyed.

Autonomy's IDOL technology was chosen by M6 for its ability to form a conceptual understanding of all information, including video and audio data, and to accurately analyze and identify the content. IDOL will be used by M6 to ingest all the cassette descriptions and cluster these by themes. IDOL will also allow M6 to automatically generate categories of content and, through automatic hyperlinking, emphasize related videos and identify duplicated files for deletion.

"We were impressed by the use of the IDOL platform at the National Library of Lyon," commented Martine Carouge, Information Manager at M6. "We selected Autonomy to make our video archive not only more manageable but also more accessible internally. Automation will be an essential factor in making this a cost effective and viable project."

"Autonomy's Meaning-based Computing technology is used by leading media organizations around the world to make full use of their information and video assets," said Mike Lynch, CEO of Autonomy. "In order to stay competitive, broadcasters must reduce the costs of manual labor and create opportunities to monetize all their assets and we are pleased to be helping M6 to do this."

About M6

During the last 20 years, M6 has become a major global media organization. The second largest general television channel within France for an under 50's audience, M6 takes a 17.6% audience share and is the only large channel with a growing audience during the early evening*.

The channel brings an originality and colour to the audio-visual landscape: its tone is often shifting through its dynamic creation, with programs dedicated to the channel's own specific identity. M6 is known for its innovation and actively cultivates its difference.

The M6 Group is also a multimedia group which consists of nine different channels (W9, Paris Première, Téva, Fun TV, M6 Music Rock, Black and Hit, Série Club, TF6) as well as offering many other diverse products: printed publications, CD, videos, magazines, shows, by-products, Internet, mobile telephony, cinema and remote sales.
