Interwoven Enables Australian War Memorial to Preserve Heroic Memories with a Digital Future

SYDNEY, AU., – November 1, 2007 - November 1, 2007 - Interwoven, Inc. (NASDAQ: IWOV), a global leader in content management solutions, today announced that it has been selected in partnership with ICT services provider, Alphawest, to provide an end-to-end content management system to The Australian War Memorial (War Memorial) in Canberra.

Approximately four million people visited the War Memorial's website last year to research their family military history, seek expert information and view images from the national collection and purchase copies. The Interwoven solution will help streamline the War Memorial's website content, consolidate museum collection digital assets, and improve record keeping. In parallel with these objectives, the War Memorial will deploy an Interwoven-based document management system to accommodate the increasing use of digital material, much of which was previously paper-based matter.

The War Memorial will implement Interwoven TeamSite for web content management, Interwoven MediaBin for digital asset management, Interwoven MetaTagger for content categorisation, and Interwoven OpenDeploy a content distribution engine which will transform its online web presence and empower business users to easily contribute and manage content. Additionally, the War Memorial will also rollout Interwoven RecordsManager for records retention across a variety of electronic and physical records, content, and media - and Interwoven WorkSite for collaborative document management.

Interwoven, partnering with Alphawest, will replace various in-house systems which were unable to scale with the War Memorial's storage and increased application of digital video and sound. The War Memorial forecasts that it will require up to 100 Terabytes of storage for digital media over the next three to five years. The organisation reviewed five vendors prior to selecting Interwoven.

Daryl Winterbottom, Head of Information Technology at The Australian War Memorial, said, "As a leader in the market, we were impressed with Interwoven's demonstrated breadth of solutions. Additionally, we are confident that the teams from Interwoven and Alphawest will provide the technical expertise to ensure a successful implementation. "Interwoven's market position, proven product integration as well as their recent adoption by other government agencies provided us with the additional confidence we needed to finalise our selection."

Interwoven Records Manager will be integrated with Interwoven WorkSite, Interwoven's collaboration document management product. This will provide the War Memorial with management of paper, electronic documents and email in a single solution enabling the organisation to control records consistently across its employee base and media types and reduce the risk from inconsistent application of records policies. When implemented, the Interwoven solution will assist with increased search and workflow capabilities and provide for collaborative use of information contained within documents for its 300 Canberra-based staff.

Winterbottom added, "We wanted to avoid the risks associated with managing any major software development internally so we looked for an off-the-shelf solution which could integrate with our existing applications. These include museum collection management systems used for cataloguing acquisitions, loans and conservation purposes. Interwoven will also seamlessly integrate with the War Memorial's various library management packages and in-house databases which help tell the story of Australians' involvement in war."

"In addition, we set out to minimise the number of products and interfaces our users need to be exposed to. With a small IT team, we didn't want to support and manage multiple applications and handle major customisation," continued Winterbottom.

"At the end of the project, War Memorial staff will see an improvement in searching capabilities of electronic records. They will be able to share information resulting in better knowledge management and have the ongoing capability to store and manage large volumes of digital media while at the same time providing this material to the public in a timely and efficient way. This program is a true enterprise approach to a broad range of content management requirements in one project," said Winterbottom.
