AUTONOMY CORPORATION PLC ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT TO ACQUIRE MERIDIO HOLDINGS LIMITED

Cambridge, UK and San Francisco, Calif. - October 23, 2007 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced an agreement to acquire Meridio Holdings Limited, a leading provider of enterprise Records Management software.

The total value of consideration for the transaction is approximately ?20 million, to be satisfied by the issuance of 1.33 million Autonomy ordinary shares with the balance of consideration payable in cash. Depending on the timing of completion, the acquisition is expected to have little to no impact on results in the fourth quarter of 2007.
