Meridio® Selected by the Audit Commission

Meridio to deliver eDRM across sites in England

Waltham MA, October 11, 2007 – Meridio, the leading worldwide provider of enterprise Document and Records Management (eDRM) software engineered for Microsoft® .NET based technologies, today announced that their eDRM solution has been selected by the Audit Commission to provide enterprise Document and Records Management to the Audit Commission's 2,500 employees, across all sites in England. The solution, which went live with the first group of users last month, was delivered in conjunction with Meridio's partner Kainos, a leading IT consulting company.

The Audit Commission is an independent public body responsible for ensuring that public money is spent economically, efficiently, and effectively in the areas of local government, housing, health, criminal justice and fire and rescue services. Their mission is to be a driving force in the improvement of public services - promoting good practice and helping those responsible for public services to achieve better outcomes for their citizens.

The Audit Commission was faced with the challenge of improving knowledge sharing between staff to help them optimize job performance. They also needed to improve corporate governance while satisfying the requirements of the Freedom of Information Policy and other relevant legislation. Meridio eDRM was selected to provide an enterprise Document and Records Management solution across their existing infrastructure at sites in England.

About the Audit Commission

The Audit Commission is an independent body responsible for ensuring that public money is spent economically, efficiently and effectively, to achieve high-quality local and national services for the public. Our remit covers around 11,000 bodies in England, which between them spend more than £180 billion of public money each year. Our work covers local government, health, housing, community safety and fire and rescue services. As an independent watchdog, we provide important information on the quality of public services. As a driving force for improvement in those services, we provide practical recommendations and spread best practice. As an independent auditor, we ensure that public services are good value for money and that public money is properly spent.
