Interwoven's Continued Leadership in Legal Industry Validated by Two Leading Technology Surveys

Interwoven Extends its Lead as the Top Choice for Addressing Firms' Most Critical Needs According to Am Law and ILTA Surveys

SAN JOSE, Calif., - September 26, 2007 - Interwoven, Inc. (NASDAQ: IWOV), a global leader in content management solutions, today announced the results of two surveys that demonstrate the company's continued market leadership in providing solutions that help law firms tackle the most pressing content management issues, including document management, email, and records management. Surveys recently released by both the International Law Technology Association (ILTA) and Law Firm Inc. Magazine validate Interwoven's focus on delivering powerful tools to help firms become more productive and efficient while managing risk – all top priorities for law firms today.

2007 ILTA Technology Survey Names Interwoven Top Provider in Three Categories
Each year, ILTA surveys its members to understand their technology needs and priorities. For 2007, they received responses from nearly 500 firms of all sizes, from all over the world, with over 103,000 attorneys and nearly 235,000 total end users represented by the data.

According to the ILTA survey, law firms voted Interwoven as the top solution provider in three critical areas:

  • Interwoven was the leading choice for management of email and electronic records, earning as many responses as the next three providers combined.
  • For the third year in a row, Interwoven was the number one solution for document management, with 43 percent of responding firms utilizing Interwoven WorkSite – a five percent increase over 2005.
  • Interwoven was the most popular extranet solution for respondents. The survey is available to ILTA members here

AmLaw Tech Survey Reveals WorkSite as Most Popular Document Management System
In its 12th year, Law Firm Inc.'s Am Law Tech Survey polled executives at the 200 largest firms in the U.S., with over 120 firms participating.

According to the survey, Interwoven WorkSite is the document management system of choice within the 200 largest law firms in the U.S. The number of firms using WorkSite for document management increased from 56 percent to 62 percent in 2007.

According to Law Firm Inc.'s article highlighting the research, this increase was "largely at the expense of Hummingbird Ltd., where firm customers fell from 38 percent to 31 percent" (Bob Violino, "Digital Dialogue Revs Up at Top Firms," Law Firm Inc. Magazine, September, 2007).

"This research proves Interwoven's leadership in delivering the most comprehensive set of information management solutions for law firms," said Neil Araujo, vice president of professional services industry solutions marketing at Interwoven. "Our customers turn to Interwoven because of both the depth of our expertise in the legal arena, as well as the breadth of offerings we deliver to solve the uniquely challenging set of problems law firms face. Our recent launch of Interwoven Universal Search for Professional Services underscores our commitment to innovation for professional services, and to continually serve the changing needs of firms today."

"We are delighted with the results of the ILTA and AmLaw Tech surveys, which demonstrate that Interwoven is in lock-step with the evolving requirements of law firms of all sizes," said Ben Kiker, chief marketing officer at Interwoven. "These changes include a continued explosion of information, a mushrooming of compliance regulations, evolving client expectations, increasing competition for top talent, and continued globalization. Clearly, Interwoven is the vendor of choice for firms looking to adopt an information management strategy that enables them to increase agility and efficiency, achieve greater collaboration, protect intellectual capital, and reduce risk."
