Statoil leverages Meridio® in Collaboration Solution

Meridio used in a best practice solution for collaboration and information sharing across organizational and geographical boundaries

Belfast NI, July 24, 2007 – Meridio, the leading worldwide provider of enterprise Document and Records Management (eDRM) software engineered for Microsoft® .NET based technologies today announced that Statoil, an integrated oil and gas company with substantial international activities is leveraging the Meridio® eDRM system in collaboration and information management solutions.

Collaboration@Statoil (C@S) enables Statoil to achieve corporate compliance while allowing users to easily store, access and share information using the familiar interfaces of Microsoft® Office, Outlook and SharePoint™. Benefits of the C@S solution include:

Best practice for collaboration and information-sharing across organizational and geographical boundaries.
Improved search and retrieval of information to ensure sharing and reuse.
Limited duplication of data by making all relevant information easily accessible for teams.
Delivering traceability as well as easy, correct and secure access of information through the information lifecycle and with respect to legal requirements.

C@S has been rolled out to over 26,000 Statoil users.

"The ability to collaborate horizontally, as well as vertically, with the Meridio solution is also of utmost importance to Statoil," said Torbjøm Lussand, Senior Consultant on the C@S Programme, Statoil. "It has been a huge leap forward. By adding the ability of having a corporate metadata system—using the flow of metadata between the components and the record-management features of Meridio—the C@S programme is affording Statoil huge improvements in its ability to manage information."

More information on the Meridio solution at Statoil is available here.
