ZANTAZ Adds Client Portal and Flexibility to First Discovery Platform Delivering Ultra-Secure Electronic Data Discovery (EDD) to Global Companies

ZANTAZ Offers SAS 70 Type II Audited Data Security Status, Safe Harbor Certification Complies with International Privacy Laws

PLEASANTON, Calif. - June 20, 2007 - ZANTAZ, Inc., a global leader in content archiving and electronic discovery solutions, today announced the latest version of First Discovery, the company's hosted electronic data discovery (EDD) solution for native file processing. First Discovery quickly and cost-effectively culls through various electronic file formats and organizes, processes and indexes that information for litigation readiness.

A key component of the comprehensive ZANTAZ suite of archiving and electronic discovery products and services, First Discovery now includes even more flexible options as well as customer access to real-time metrics, coupled with the highest levels of data security including compliance with international data privacy laws.

Data Security

ZANTAZ has SAS 70 Type II audited security status, providing clients, such as financial institutions, government agencies, and law firms concerned with their clients' privacy, with confidence that ZANTAZ follows the most secure and efficient processes and procedures.

A SAS 70 Type II audit means that ZANTAZ has submitted to an in-depth audit of its control objectives and activities, including controls over information technology and related processes. For companies concerned with the security of their data, a SAS 70 Type II audit offers one of the highest levels of third-party validation and confirms that ZANTAZ has the controls and safeguards in place to securely host and process client data.

Also, in recognition that global businesses face increasing pressure to adhere to data governance laws in the European Union, ZANTAZ has registered under the "Safe Harbor" program of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Safe Harbor registration permits EU companies to send their data to ZANTAZ' facilities in the United States for processing in compliance with the European Commission's Directive on Data Protection, which generally prohibits the transfer of personal data to non-EU nations that do not meet the European "adequacy" standard for privacy protection absent a registration under the Safe Harbor or other specified means of ensuring that the data will be adequately safeguarded.

Safe Harbor Certification is further validation that ZANTAZ offers the most stringent protection of data available.

Client Access

Beyond data protection, ZANTAZ First Discovery now offers a Discovery Portal that provides clients with real-time metrics, including how much data has been processed, how much remains, and how much information is fully prepared for loading into a review solution. Project cost tracking will be available later this year, including invoice-to-date and ingestion and export fees.

Flexibility

As ZANTAZ delivers its comprehensive solution for archiving and discovery, the company has worked closely with clients to meet their need for flexible solutions that suit their specific technical and financial requirements.

As a result, ZANTAZ offers:

  • Media restoration and cataloging - Potential data sources are identified to determine the scope of a project, and ZANTAZ restores relevant data from these sources. ZANTAZ Media Restoration services can be used for large-scale data recovery and searches across a wide range of media, platforms, email systems and backup software. ZANTAZ also offers de-duplication and near-duplication services. Once the data has been restored and cataloged, it can be immediately imported into First Discovery, the Digital Safe, First Archive, or any of a number of ZANTAZ solutions.
  • Litigation support processing - The First Discovery process produces a litigation-ready file that can be imported directly into ZANTAZ Introspect, an industry-leading hosted discovery review solution for complex litigation and compliance projects. Introspect provides image and native file review, multi-level foldering and full-production capabilities in a highly scalable solution.

"First Discovery delivers a platform to rapidly process data in an ultra-secure environment while navigating the operational complexities surrounding electronic discovery, particularly for global companies," said Bob Little, vice president of product marketing, ZANTAZ. "With our real-time client portal, flexible solutions, competitive pricing models, and complementary electronic discovery solutions, ZANTAZ offers one of the industry's most attractive services for electronic discovery data processing."
