Meridio Executive Recognized by Association of Women in Computing for Exceptional Achievements in Technology
Becky Thomas honored with 2007 Leadership in Technology Award
Houston TX, June 11, 2007 – Meridio, the leading worldwide provider of enterprise Document and Records Management (eDRM) software engineered for Microsoft® .NET based technologies, today announced that Becky Thomas, Senior Vice President, North America, has been chosen as a winner of one of the technology industry's most prestigious regional awards. She will receive the 2007 Leadership in Technology Award by the Houston Chapter of the Association for Women in Computing (AWC). Thomas was recognized for her leadership, community service and mentoring of women in the technology industry.
"Becky Thomas exemplifies extraordinary leadership for AWC at both the local and national level through her contributions on our board," said AWC President Jill Sweeney. "She fosters education and growth for women in our industry, providing wisdom and counsel as they advance their careers. As a recent president of the chapter, she was instrumental in increasing public awareness and membership of AWC Houston by 75 percent, again demonstrating the leadership she brings to AWC. She has been a tremendous inspiration to others in the industry through her career accomplishments, community service and public speaking."
Throughout her career, Becky Thomas has worked with customers to bring innovative solutions to their businesses. In her work, Thomas brings an ability to understand complex business requirements and to work with teams as they create the technologies required to meet customer business needs.
"Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to have mentors who provided support and guidance," said Thomas. "In today's technology industry, there are significantly more opportunities for young women and it's important that they have executives who can offer advice and counsel. It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by my peers through the AWC."
Thomas was honored along with her peers at the AWC's annual Top Houston Women in Technology Gala on June 9, 2007, held at the Inter-Continental Houston Hotel.
