FEDERAL TEAMS LEAVE CONVERA FAST TO JOIN AUTONOMY

Federal Sales Team and RetrievalWare product experts leave to join industry leader

San Francisco, Calif. - April 23, 2007 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced it has hired the Federal sales team from Convera FAST. The team members, who hold federal clearances to service and sell to the U.S. government community, will be based in Autonomy's Falls Church, Virginia offices.

Key leaders joining Autonomy include the Vice President of Sales and Operations, Vice President of Product Engineering and the Security Program Manager. "We are extremely pleased to welcome such experienced managers and their team members to Autonomy's Federal operations," said Stouffer Egan, CEO of Autonomy Inc. "This team has long been dedicated to serving the interests of Convera customers who represent the majority of the company's RetrievalWare revenue. It is important that these customers have access to continued support, advanced technology and cleared services personnel which Autonomy is uniquely able to provide."

On 2 April 2007 Convera Corporation announced an agreement to sell its RetrievalWare enterprise software business to Fast Search & Transfer ASA (OSEAX: FAST.OL), for a cash sale price and Convera signing a deal to deploy Fast software as part of the acquisition, according to Forbes.
