ZANTAZ Announces the Availability of First Archive in the UK, a Fully Integrated Mailbox Management and Hosted Storage Solution

  • Increases control of information through a single, highly scalable archive environment
  • Reduces archiving costs by more than 30 percent while increasing cost predictability
  • Manages risk by centralising data for electronic discovery and compliance

LONDON - April 18, 2007 - ZANTAZ, Inc., a global leader in Content Archiving and Electronic Disclosure, today announces that it is making available in Europe its First ArchiveTM solution, the integration of two of its award-winning applications combining mailbox management capabilities and hosted compliance archiving. Previously, European companies primarily had the choice of an onsite mailbox management solution or a hosted archive. ZANTAZ First Archive seamlessly combines mailbox management with the leading hosted storage solution in a single solution, allowing customers to better control the risks and costs associated with archiving and retrieving digital information.

Representing a unique approach for mailbox management, ZANTAZ First Archive allows organisations to lower the risk associated with managing digital information, while reducing total cost of ownership by more than 30 percent when compared to traditional on-site mailbox management solutions. Companies reduce risk through the ability to delegate the management and backing up of data stores that contain business-critical information to ZANTAZ, a trusted third-party with nearly 14 billion emails currently under management.

Savings are achieved by lowering administration and storage costs, providing a built-in continuity of business solution, and centralising data in a single document store for efficient management and disclosure. The solution can also be extended to include content supervision, electronic disclosure and litigation support.

First Archive mailbox management capabilities can improve Exchange performance by up to 80 percent and significantly reduce the risk of an Exchange 2007 upgrade or migration by off-loading the management of the email and attachments to a ZANTAZ Digital Safe environment where they are managed to the highest industry standards. The results are an optimised Exchange server environment and end-user experience that eliminates quotas and improves searching and disclosure capabilities.

"Email management is a growing challenge for almost all organisations today. End users are forced to spend time managing their email inbox quotas - moving business critical data to unsecured personal email data files that are subject to corporate back-up and retention policies. Compliance departments struggle to meet regulatory and corporate governance requirements, and legal departments are inundated with disclosure requests," said Carla Arend, Senior Research Analyst for IDC. "ZANTAZ First Archive is designed to help organisations streamline their digital information management, allowing administrative and storage resources to be re-deployed."

"ZANTAZ was the first company to help organisations proactively manage their email systems with a proven and scalable on-demand compliant archiving solution that also offers fail-safe mailbox management," said Steve King, president and CEO of ZANTAZ. "We are pleased to bring this unique, highly flexible solution to Europe to help our customers meet the challenge of managing the explosive growth in email volume while dealing with the increasingly complex requirements posed by regulatory compliance and legal disclosure."

ZANTAZ First Archive features:

  • ZANTAZ Enterprise Archive Solution (EAS) as the email management interface to Outlook that archives the messages to the ZANTAZ Digital Safe (Lotus Notes coming soon)
  • ZANTAZ Digital Safe Split with split cell architecture, which delivers data to two geographically separate locations, ensuring business continuity
  • Full compliance with regulatory or internal policies and retention requirements
  • Messages are archived in their native format, enabling storage of text formatting and extended metadata.
