Meridio Achieves Australian VERS Certification

Meridio adds VERS to an impressive list of certifications

Belfast NI, April 3, 2007 – Meridio, the leading worldwide provider of enterprise Document and Records Management (eDRM) software engineered for Microsoft® .NET based technologies, today announced that Public Record Office of Victoria (PROV) has certified Meridio® eDRM under the Victorian Electronic Record Strategy or VERS, a standard for records management software used by that State's government agencies.

VERS is a framework of standards, guidance, training, consultancy and implementation projects, which is centered around the goal of reliably and authentically archiving electronic records. VERS is promoted globally and has been accepted and used by archival institutions, national and international Governments and local and global product vendors.

"VERS differs from other standards in that it has a focus on archiving records for long-term preservation," said Alan Gilmore, CTO at Meridio. "Australia has long been recognized as a center of progressive thinking on records management."

Meridio eDRM has previously been certified by the UK TNA 2002 and US DoD 5015.2 Standards. Meridio is a supporter of the MoReq2 standards effort, and is assisting in its development.

"Our customers use our records management software to manage their critical information," said Malcolm Halliwell, Managing Director, Asia Pacific for Meridio. "Compliance to VERS delivers best practices to our solutions and demonstrates our commitment to the Australian market."

More information on Meridio VERS certification is available on the VERS website here.
