Interwoven Congratulates SJ Berwin for Receiving Technology Implementation of the Year
Award from Legal Technology Journal Recognizes SJ Berwin's Implementation of Interwoven WorkSite
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - March 22, 2007 - Interwoven, Inc. (NASDAQ: IWOV), a global leader in content management solutions, today announced that SJ Berwin LLP, a leading pan-European law firm, has received a Legal Technology Award for "Technology Implementation of the Year." Presented in association with Legal Technology Journal, SJ Berwin was recognized for its use of Interwoven WorkSite, Interwoven's award-winning solution for matter-centric document management.
The Legal Technology Awards celebrate excellence in the provision and implementation of technology solutions for the benefit of the legal practice, and recognize the success of the firms, vendors, clients, and suppliers at the leading edge of this continuously developing area of business. This marks the second year in a row that an Interwoven customer has been chosen for this award.
"We are honored to be recognized for our efforts to create a state-of-the-art document management system," said Simon Kosminsky, IT Director, SJ Berwin LLP. "Our implementation of Interwoven WorkSite has enabled us to create an electronic matter file system that improves productivity, reduces cost, and eliminates the risks associated with incomplete or scattered client matter files."
SJ Berwin's implementation of the Interwoven solution came in response to challenges it faced that are common to many law firms. Specifically, SJ Berwin was looking to address the cost and complexity of managing a complete client matter file made up of both paper and electronic documentation. Additionally, SJ Berwin wanted to better enforce policies for security, retention, compliance, and disaster recovery. Following extensive research, the firm selected the Interwoven Matter-Centric Collaboration solution, powered by Interwoven WorkSite, and rolled it out to 800 users in its London and Brussels locations in December 2005, soon followed by offices in Italy, Germany, France, and Spain.
Today, Interwoven WorkSite is used by professionals throughout SJ Berwin to access and share repositories of matter-centric information containing nearly 12 million electronic documents, e-mails, images, paper, and other client records. The solution provides the firm with a way to incorporate all forms of matter-related material into a single secure and searchable desktop integration. This allows SJ Berwin to retain the look and feel of its current Outlook system. Users can now easily move documents by simple drag-and-drop procedures. Policies around security, email retention, compliance, and disaster recovery are now simpler to design and enforce, and advanced scanning technology has made it possible for the firm to greatly reduce the use of paper content and cut its annual storage costs from $2.5 million to only $1.25 million.
"We are delighted to see SJ Berwin recognized for their efforts and use of Interwoven WorkSite," said Neil Araujo, vice president of professional services industry solutions marketing at Interwoven. "Interwoven has long been committed to delivering solutions that help law firms achieve the greatest possible productivity, competitiveness, and profitability. WorkSite addresses key challenges without overburdening the user with more applications, more clicks, and more complexity."
