ZANTAZ Introspect Delivers New Review Capabilities to Reduce the Time and Cost of Discovery Review and Production

Side-By-Side Review Capability Allows For Fast and Easy Document Comparisons

LEGALTECH NEW YORK - Jan. 30, 2007 - ZANTAZ, Inc., the global leader in content archiving and electronic discovery solutions, today announced enhancements to Introspect, ZANTAZ' industry-leading solution for discovery review and production. They include:

  • Cross Reference Panel: Utilizing the unique Cross Reference functionality in Introspect, reviewers are presented with custodian-level data that is expanded to include near-duplicates and email threads. This allows reviewers to find one document of interest and quickly cross-reference every document with similar characteristics.
  • Comparison Viewer: A new side-by-side comparison viewer further increases review performance and consistency by focusing the reviewer on the differences between two emails or near-duplicate documents. Reviewers can see the comparison in native view, TIFF view, and ZANTAZ' new redline view, which shows the text of both versions in one window with only the differences highlighted. By anchoring one document and quickly seeing only the differences in all related documents, reviewers can speed through many more documents per hour.
  • Bulk Tagging: The combination of the Cross Reference Panel and the Comparison Viewer enables reviewers to quickly understand when a group of similar and near-duplicate documents can be tagged without individual examination. ZANTAZ Introspect enables reviewers to tag all these files with a single click, dramatically reducing the number of documents that need to be examined.

According to an independent analysis, discovery reviews typically cost between $3 and $5 per document. With mega-cases-those involving more than 500,000 documents-now commonplace (Legal Tech Newsletter) and American firms spending an average of $8 million annually on litigation (Fulbright and Jaworski), law firms are under increasing pressure to reduce the costs of document reviews.

"The increase in the number and complexity of legal actions facing large enterprises is compelling these companies to pressure their outside legal services firms and internal operations to identify areas to effectively reduce the cost of litigation," said Vivian Tero, senior research analyst at IDC. "The ability to group duplicates and near-duplicates together and use a comparison viewer to rapidly process these items could have a direct positive impact on litigation costs, and would resonate well with customers."

"We have worked closely with our customers to understand their needs and how the discovery review workflow within ZANTAZ Introspect could be further streamlined to reduce the time and cost of reviews," said David Baskin, discovery management marketing director at ZANTAZ. "By minimizing the number of documents that need to be examined and helping lawyers see relationships among documents more quickly, ZANTAZ Introspect exceeds the capabilities of any other solution on the market today and will help law firms save time and reduce review costs."

ZANTAZ Introspect is the most complete online discovery review application for complex litigation and compliance projects, providing image and native file review, multi-level foldering, and full-production capabilities in a highly scalable solution. ZANTAZ Introspect manages all relevant types of documents, including native electronic files, scanned paper documents, and transcripts.
