GLAXOSMITHKLINE STANDARDIZES ON AUTONOMY

Autonomy's IDOL 7 to be Deployed Globally at World Leading Pharmaceutical Company

Cambridge, England and San Francisco, Calif. - 22 January 2007 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise and proponent of meaning-based computing, today announced that it has signed an agreement with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), one of the world's leading research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, for the global deployment of Autonomy's IDOL 7 platform.

"It was essential for us to select an infrastructure that could integrate all of our data regardless of format, scale and maintain performance. We chose Autonomy to supply this infrastructure," said Ingo Elfering, vice president of Global Application Services. "GSK's decision to deploy Autonomy to underpin and automate a wide spectrum of information processing operations globally enables the company to minimize the costs and risks of transacting real-time digital information while simultaneously maximizing its value."

Mike Lynch, CEO of Autonomy, commented: "I am delighted that GSK has selected Autonomy after a competitive procurement, bringing the benefits of Autonomy's industry leading IDOL 7 to hundreds of thousands of users around the globe. Similar to other world-leading companies that have standardized on Autonomy in recent years, GSK's selection of Autonomy is a testament to the performance, scalability and security of Autonomy's solutions and we are proud to be working with GSK."
