ARUP'S AUTONOMY-POWERED KM PLATFORM WINS BEST INNOVATION IN KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AWARD

Autonomy and Arup win at the International Information Industry Awards 2006

Cambridge, UK and San Francisco, Calif. - Dec. 4th 2006 – Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that Arup, a global firm of designers and business consultants providing a diverse range of professional services to clients around the world, has won the Best Innovation in Knowledge Management category at the International Information Industry Awards 2006 for their Autonomy-powered KM platform. The award recognizes any project that has shown exceptional innovation in the field of knowledge and information management, reaping specific and quantifiable benefits for the organization.

Arup chose Autonomy to enable the harnessing of critical knowledge and expertise held by its global employee base. Through the use of Autonomy, Arup does not need to reinvent the successful processes that are already in place within the organization; Autonomy's technology is mapped onto their preferred way of working. Autonomy details synergies between people, fostering collaboration and decreasing the likelihood of duplication of effort. This is critical for an organization like Arup, where employees might be working on diverse projects that actually leverage highly similar principles.

Tony Sheehan, Group Knowledge Manager at Arup commented: "We are extremely pleased that our work with Autonomy and the tangible benefits it has created have been recognized by the industry. Our business rests upon effective collaboration, and Autonomy's world-leading technology has given us the capabilities to leverage our employees' considerable skills and build upon our success."

"This is an excellent result for a truly inspirational project" said Mike Lynch, Autonomy CEO. "Autonomy is constantly striving for excellence, placing Research & Development at the forefront of the business and spending more than double our competitors in this area. Winning this award demonstrates that Autonomy's technology is not only innovative but brings real returns for customers by harnessing the value of information."
