AUTONOMY SUPPORTS ITALY'S ECONOMIC POLICYMAKERS
Consiglio Nazionale dell'Economia e del Lavoro's (CNEL) external, Autonomy-powered website, www.cnel.it, goes live
Cambridge, UK, – November 16th, 2006 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that CNEL, Italy's National Council for Economy and Work, have gone live with their Autonomy-powered external website, www.cnel.it. CNEL, founded in 1957, is one of the key policymakers of social and economic laws in Italy, and their contracts archive contains all of the contracts related to employment in the country.
Autonomy was chosen primarily due to its ability to search any file format using natural language queries, rather than keywords, and its potential to grow as CNEL's needs dictate. Users of CNEL's website are already benefiting from Autonomy's wide range of retrieval options including conceptual, traditional Boolean and parametric search over more than 100,000 documents. In the future, there are plans to incorporate additional Autonomy functionality, integrate more archives and introduce tailored features to people within CNEL itself. The project was worked on in conjunction with Atlantis S.p.A., Autonomy's implementation partner.
"The Atlantis laboratory, using Autonomy's technology in the Advanced Territorial Development Project, aims to develop innovative approaches in Knowledge Management for Local Government Institutions and support them in the definition of added value services for people, companies and professionals," says Raffaello Grazzini, President of Atlantis S.p.A. "For Atlantis, CNEL is a strategic reference for providing socio-economic knowledge to a growing and demanding target."
Mike Lynch, CEO of Autonomy commented: "Autonomy's advanced technology excels in the online environment, enhancing the user experience and encouraging user loyalty. We are delighted to be powering CNEL's external website and look forward to developing this further in the future."
