ZANTAZ Wins Shoot-Out at Storage Expo

ZANTAZ EAS Takes Top Honors at 'Deal or No Deal' Pitch Competition

PLEASANTON, Calif. - Oct. 25, 2006 - ZANTAZ, Inc., the global leader in content archiving and electronic discovery solutions, took first place in a no-holds-barred shoot-out among storage technology companies in a dramatic final showpiece on October 19th at Storage Expo UK 2006.

The highly competitive event featured seven storage industry vendors who each presented a two-minute case regarding their product as a compelling solution to a challenging business issue or problem. The competitors were then questioned by a panel comprised of storage market analysts, a venture capitalist and storage industry experts. Questioning concentrated on specific industry need, product stability, and technology innovation.

The ZANTAZ Enterprise Archive Solution (EAS) came out on top based on two distinct criteria: the size and importance of the issues regarding archiving, knowledge management and disclosure of email and electronic content; and the quality, flexibility and functionality of the product ZANTAZ has developed to overcome these issues. The ZANTAZ product pitch beat impressive technology presentations from Expand Networks, Iron Mountain, Promise Technology, StoreAge Networking Technologies, Texas Memory Systems, and WysDM.

"It's challenging to pitch against different technologies that overcome diverse business and technology issues," said Steve King, president and CEO, ZANTAZ. "Our focus was to communicate the size of the challenge faced by organizations with respect to effectively managing and disclosing email and electronic content. Once the panel understood the magnitude of the problems our technology solves and gained insight into ZANTAZ EAS' unique capabilities from both a content archiving and electronic discovery standpoint, it was a compelling combination that made us stand out from the competition."

King continued, "ZANTAZ content archiving products are far and away the most flexible solutions on the market. They can be deployed as an on-demand software service, onsite software, or a combination of the two, ensuring our customers can satisfy any number of IT and business requirements."

The judging panel was chaired by David Mardle, corporate partner, Taylor Wessing, with additional panel members including: Jon Collins, principal analyst, Macehiter Ward-Dutton; Tony Locke, Research Director for EMEA at Sageza Group; and Chris Smart, managing partner, Acacia Capital Partners.

About the Winning Product

ZANTAZ EAS is a complete solution for content archiving and electronic discovery that enables companies to collect both live and legacy data into a central repository for immediate, secure access and discovery. The solution ensures that the retention, disposition, and preservation of email and files are in accordance with industry regulations, legal hold requirements, and corporate governance policies. With EAS, companies can take back control of their email and file servers by reducing overall email and file storage volume by 50 to 80 percent, optimizing email servers without the need for mailbox quotas, and minimizing the costs and risks associated with the proliferation of local archives.
