Meridio achieves US DoD 5015.2 Certification with Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Portal Server 2003

Certification allows Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Portal Server 2003 to be used in Government and Defense Applications

Waltham MA, October 23, 2006 – Meridio, a leading worldwide provider of enterprise Document and Records Management (eDRM) software engineered for Microsoft® .NET platforms announced today that the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) has tested the integration of Meridio 4.4 with Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Portal Server 2003 and found it compliant with the DoD 5015.2 Standard. The US Federal Government mandates that DoD Certification is required for Electronic Records Management systems.

Meridio works in concert with SharePoint Portal Server 2003, to provide Document and Records Management features integrated with the SharePoint Portal Server 2003 user experience. Users of the new solution can easily declare records from SharePoint Portal Server 2003 content.

"SharePoint Products and Technologies provide customers with the ability to easily create and manage their own content, connecting users to the data they need while enabling collaboration across the enterprise," said Seth Patton, Director, SharePoint Partners for Microsoft. "The new solution allows SharePoint Portal Server 2003 to be deployed widely across US government agencies."

"Meridio was specifically designed to meet the requirements of DoD 5015.2 which has become a de-facto standard for both government and commercial compliance officers in the U.S," said Alan Gilmore, CTO, Meridio. "By committing to standards, Meridio is enabling its customers to provide eDRM based solutions with the highest global records management credentials."

The United States Department of Defense Records Management Program DoD 5015.2 provides implementation and procedural guidance on the management of records in the Department of Defense. This Standard sets forth mandatory baseline functional requirements for Records Management Application (RMA) software used by DoD Components in the implementation of their records management programs; defines required system interfaces and search criteria to be supported by the RMAs; and describes the minimum records management requirements that must be met, based on current National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) regulations. The DoD standard is widely adopted outside the Defense industry in both commercial and government markets as defining best practices in Electronic Records Management.

A summary report is available from the JITC at http://jitc.fhu.disa.mil/recmgt/meridio/v4.4/summary.pdf.
