AUTONOMY GROUP SIGNS CONTRACT WITH MERRILL LYNCH

Cambridge, UK - 11 October 2006 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that Merrill Lynch, one of the world's leading financial services firms, has signed an agreement to deploy Autonomy group products.

Merrill Lynch is one of the world's leading wealth management, capital markets and advisory companies, with offices in 36 countries and territories and total client assets of approximately $1.5 trillion.

Autonomy's agreement with Merrill Lynch is based on software license and maintenance fees.
