''Constructech'' Magazine Names Interwoven Partner Data Builder to '2006 Hottest Technology' List

Interwoven technology underpins award-winning Electronic Project Control System for the construction industry

SUNNYVALE, Calif - October 9, 2006 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for business, today announced that OEM partner Data Builder Inc., the leader in document management software and services for general contractors and building owners, has been named to Constructech magazine's 2006 Hottest Technology list for the company's Electronic Project Control System™ (e-PCS™). Interwoven WorkSite® provides the foundation for e-PCS, enabling general contractors to manage the complete cycle of documents and workflow-from pre-construction to post construction, delivering an optimized client experience, improving productivity, and facilitating risk management. Data Builder's recognition is the latest example of an Interwoven partner successfully leveraging WorkSite to solve specific business process challenges for vertical industries.

Data Builder e-PCS was also honored with a technology Enabler Award at Constructech's recent 2006 Technology Day and Vision Award Ceremony. This is the second consecutive year that Data Builder has won a technology Enabler Award. According to Mike Carrozzo, editor, Constructech, "Technology from Data Builder has made a unique impact on projects with its impressive set of tools for streamlining project documentation and closeout."

"Data Builder e-PCS leverages the award-winning capabilities of Interwoven WorkSite to meet process-driven business requirements specific to the construction industry, enabling general contractors and building owners a streamlined approach to managing productivity and operational efficiency," said Scott Lombard, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Data Builder.

The power of enterprise content management
Data Builder e-PCS enables construction companies to eliminate time and expense wasted through manual, paper-based processes from pre-construction and closeout, to retention management. Authorized team members can view project documentation via a Web-based interface, establish and manage customizable retention schedules and create closeout files from any location, at any time. Automatic e-mail notifications alert team members to approval requests or new documents, increasing efficiency and document management while reducing risk. Data Builder e-PCS is available as a hosted or managed service, reinforcing the proven multi-tenancy capabilities of Interwoven WorkSite.

According to an analysis by Iowa State University, an e-PCS improves the efficiency of a general contractor's building process by an average of $4 to $5 million, delivering substantial bottom-line savings in the context of a typical $100-million project.

Creating visible ROI
The Weitz Company is but one example of a leading construction company realizing substantial gains. The company recently received a Vision Award from Constructech magazine for its successful use of Data Builder e-PCS and other Data Builder solutions to improve the ability of its project teams to create, distribute, archive, and retrieve critical information.

Said Mark Federle, CIO of The Weitz Company, "Managing the information of a construction project has historically been a very manual and time-consuming process, but e-PCS enables us to conduct centralized, real-time management of project documentation. The solution is much more than just a document management system-it is a way in which users can electronically closeout projects with a few simple clicks and improve risk management through sophisticated audit trail tracking. Data Builder e-PCS gives us the assurance that critical information is available where we need it, when we need it."

"Interwoven is dedicated to delivering enterprise content management solutions to simplify, automate and accelerate key business processes across today's enterprises," said Todd Scallan, vice president of product management Interwoven. "Our partnership with Data Builder underscores this strategy and we congratulate Data Builder on their recognition, innovation and success."
