BDO STOY HAYWARD STANDARDIZES ON AUTONOMY

Autonomy to power the firms global corporate extranet in addition to their existing Autonomy-powered intranet application spanning 600 offices in 100 countries

Cambridge, UK - August 2006 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that BDO Stoy Hayward, a member of the world's fifth-largest accountancy network, is to standardize on Autonomy technology throughout the enterprise. Successful long-term use of Autonomy technology in BDO Stoy Hayward's internal systems and on its UK website has led the organization to select Autonomy to power its entire corporate extranet.

BDO Stoy Hayward already uses Autonomy extensively for its corporate intranet of around 3000 users, connecting 600 offices in 100 countries. Autonomy technology is used to link the disparate file and print systems of the regional offices, integrating the data and allowing users to search across the 1 terabyte of content within enterprise repositories. The Risk Management Department has also developed a risk management environment using Autonomy, which indexes all corporate data including unstructured information sources such as text documents and presentations but currently excluding email. The system has trawled and indexed over 8,000,000 documents to date from BDO Stoy Hayward's file and print systems and automates conflict of interest checks.

Graham Knight, Head of Technology at BDO Stoy Hayward, explains: "We were really looking for an instant response, which is what Autonomy gives us, enabling us to work much more flexibly and at speed. Speed of access to content, within a secure environment and wherever we are working from is one of the key benefits we have experienced using Autonomy."

These systems are underpinned by Autonomy's core technology, the Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL). The IDOL server acts as the backbone to an enterprise's data and forms a conceptual and contextual understanding of that information. This single platform enables enterprises to understand and respond to the meaning and significance of any piece of information within the organization, whatever its format and it is this functionality which enables BDO Stoy Hayward to unite information stored in their disparate locations. IDOL's complete infrastructure layer automatically analyzes any piece of information from 300 different content formats, including text, voice or video and performs advanced operations on that information in real-time.

Dr. Mike Lynch, founder and CEO of Autonomy, commented: "We are delighted that BDO Stoy Hayward has chosen to standardize on Autonomy. By applying Autonomy's core technology to applications across the enterprise, all employees at BDO Stoy Hayward are reaping the benefits of improved information processing and access. This continues the trend for standardization on Autonomy by leading corporations from all sectors across the globe."
