Global Law Firm Howrey Selects Interwoven Document and E-Mail Management

World-class firm switches to Interwoven WorkSite for award-winning ease-of-use, proven matter-centric collaboration, and rapid implementation

ORLANDO, FL - International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) Conference - August 23, 2006 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for business, today announced that Howrey LLP, a leading U.S. law firm with offices around the globe, has selected Interwoven's award-winning Matter-Centric Collaboration Solution for firm-wide document and e-mail management. Based on Interwoven WorkSite software, the Interwoven Matter-Centric Collaboration Solution will replace a competitive system previously purchased by Howrey, helping the world-class law firm enhance client service, improve productivity, and increase compliance across offices.

With more than 600 lawyers and professionals located across 14 offices, Howrey provides clients around the globe with award-winning legal services in the areas of complex litigation, antitrust, and intellectual property. The firm is recognized worldwide for its client service, including being ranked as a top firm for the past five years in the "Who Defends Corporate America" survey of Fortune 250 companies. Additionally, Howrey was recently categorized by UK publication, as one of the top 50 law firms worldwide.

To maintain its leadership position, Howrey has consistently placed a strong focus on the strategic use of technology to improve efficiencies. This commitment to technology prompted Howrey's initial decision four years ago to implement a document management system. Since then, the firm has decided to investigate other solutions that could enhance collaboration functionality.

Following an extensive evaluation of multiple document management offerings and an in-depth trial to gauge performance, functionality, and reliability, the Interwoven Matter-Centric Collaboration Solution was chosen to replace the firm's previous system. To date, over 300 professional services firms have switched to Interwoven, reinforcing the strong momentum that the best-in-class Interwoven WorkSite software continues to achieve globally.

"Interwoven WorkSite has a strong reputation in the legal industry worldwide as a solid document and e-mail management system," said Brian Conlon, CIO, Howrey. "A detailed and rigorous analysis validated that WorkSite could provide us with the reliability, performance, and features that we were looking for in a core foundational piece of our IT strategy. Interwoven is enabling us to focus on what we do best - providing our clients with unmatched service."

With over 1,500 professional services customers worldwide, Interwoven has established itself as the solutions leader for professional services firms seeking to manage documents, e-mails, images, paper, and other client records in the context of an end-to-end client engagement environment. Since the introduction of the Interwoven Matter-Centric Collaboration solution two years ago, the solution's adoption rate has risen steadily as professional services firms have recognized its value as the leading offering for mobility, records management, e-mail management, and other content-related processes.

By leveraging Interwoven's matter-centric approach, Howrey's lawyers and staff - regardless of geographical location - can easily manage documents, e-mails, records, and contacts in a central, Web-based repository, speeding access to client and project-related content for higher-quality service and greater firm-wide productivity and compliance.

"In order to implement key initiatives like e-mail management, virtual or electronic files, and business continuity, law firms need a system that they can rely on for the highest quality performance, reliability, and functionality," said Chris Junker, vice president and general manager, legal services at Interwoven. "We're thrilled that Howrey and other firms using legacy systems continue to switch to Interwoven WorkSite for its advanced features, proven scalability, and track record for rapid deployment and customer satisfaction."
