Meridio Renews Department of Defense 5015.2 Certification

DoD Certification Seen as a Key Requirement for Records Management Solutions

Waltham MA, August 23, 2006 – Meridio, the leading worldwide provider of enterprise Document and Records Management (eDRM) software engineered for Microsoft® .NET platforms announced today the re-certification of Meridio® 4.4 against the DoD 5015.2-STD.

Meridio has renewed its certification against both DoD 5015.2 Chapter 2 and the more demanding Chapter 4 Management of Classified Records. Meridio has also achieved DoD 5015.2 certification as a paired solution with Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003, further demonstrating the transparent integration of Meridio eDRM with Microsoft. Meridio added Enterprise Document Capture as an optional feature in the certification.

Enterprise Document Capture is an advanced facility that provides for high-throughput rules-based capture of streamed information, such as Emails and Instant Messages. It can automate Email Management for highly regulated industries, compliant Instant Message management or migrations of legacy content repositories.

"The Department of Defense is a key market for Meridio in North America," said Mark Godfrey, Vice President Global Sales, Meridio. "Our success in the Defense market globally is reflected in our US Defense customers. In the coming months Meridio will be releasing several initiatives in the North American Defense and Homeland Security markets.

The certification also builds on the strong partnership between Meridio and Microsoft. The combined solution is key in delivering productive collaboration in a managed and secure information environment."

"Meridio is very pleased to have Meridio 4.4 and our integration with SharePoint certified. This demonstrates our commitment to the Defense, Federal and Homeland Security markets", said Brian Baird, CEO, Meridio. "Re-certification allows us to bring product innovations to the market, as well as the peace of mind that Meridio 4.4 conforms to the stringent standards of DoD 5015.2 chapters 2 and 4."

Meridio continues to deliver ease of use and productivity to the desktop, as well as security and regulatory control to the data stored.

The United States Department of Defense Records Management Program DoD 5015.2 provides implementation and procedural guidance on the management of records in the Department of Defense. This Standard sets forth mandatory baseline functional requirements for Records Management Application (RMA) software used by DoD Components in the implementation of their records management programs; defines required system interfaces and search criteria to be supported by the RMAs; and describes the minimum records management requirements that must be met, based on current National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) regulations. The DoD standard is widely adopted outside the Defense industry in both commercial and government markets as defining best practices in Electronic Records Management.
