ZANTAZ Named a Top-Five Service and Software Provider in Socha-Gelbmann 2006 Electronic Discovery Survey

ZANTAZ Ranked Top-Five Service Provider for Second Year in a Row

PLEASANTON, Calif. - August 2, 2006 - ZANTAZ, Inc., the global leader in content archiving and electronic discovery solutions, has been ranked a top-five service provider and a top-five software provider in the prestigious 2006 Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery Survey. This is the second year in a row ZANTAZ has been ranked a top-five service provider. ZANTAZ delivers multiple offerings to the electronic discovery market, including, Introspect, the industry's most scalable and efficient online review and litigation support solution, and First Discovery™, a complete data collection and e-discovery solution that integrates media restoration, a transparent capture agent, a secure online repository, and sophisticated search tools into a single solution. The rankings of the Socha-Gelbmann survey can also be viewed on the Common Scold, a blog authored by Monica Bay, editor-in-chief of Law Technology News. Bay's blog can be accessed at http://commonscold.typepad.com.

"The Top Five service and software providers in this year's survey truly stand out among their law firm and corporate clients for the scope, quality, and depth of their offerings," said George J. Socha, Jr., of Socha Consulting LLC. "Among the many criteria we consider, to reach a Top Five ranking, providers must have a broad offering, receive positive mention from respondents, and generate significant revenue from their electronic discovery solutions."

"Our ranking in the Socha-Gelbmann survey reflects ZANTAZ' ongoing success at understanding and meeting the specific needs of our clients, who require a more flexible, cost effective approach to electronic discovery," said Steve King, president and CEO, ZANTAZ. "As we continue to expand the capabilities of our electronic discovery solutions, Introspect and ZANTAZ First Discovery, we will remain focused on delivering innovations that remove complexity, cost, and risk from the discovery and review process."

The survey reports that the market for electronic discovery grew 56 percent in 2005 and will likely increase approximately 37 percent from 2005 to 2006, another 37 percent from 2006 to 2007, and 29 percent from 2007 to 2008. According to the report, the market drivers last year were cost management, lack of standards, overwhelming volumes of data, lack of quality education and in-depth understanding, and fear.

To provide the basis for the analysis, the Socha-Gelbmann survey worked with data from 91 organizations that provided or consumed electronic discovery services or software. Nearly 700 individuals were initially contacted about participation in the survey. Ultimately, Socha-Gelbmann gathered information from 91 people through direct confidential interviews and three in-depth spreadsheets - one for law firms, a second for corporations, and a third for services and software providers. As in years past, the consumers represented a cross-section of Am Law 200 law firms as well as some of the largest companies in the country and the providers came from a robust cross section of the industry. In addition to gathering information from these primary sources, an array of secondary source information was collected from a variety of business and information resources. To arrive at its rankings, Socha-Gelbmann conducted a detailed evaluation of a broad array of over 300 qualitative and quantitative factors. This information was aggregated into seven top-level categories: experience, capacity, types of services, software usage, law firm rankings, corporate rankings, and revenue. The final results were based on a weighted combination of the criteria, with the Top Five Providers being listed in alphabetical order, without identifying individual ranking within the group.
