ZANTAZ EDiscovery Enhancements Allow Corporations and Law Firms to Better Manage the Discovery Process

New Features Include Equivio Near-Duplicate Grouping Technology and Online and Offline TIFF on Demand

PLEASANTON, Calif. - July 17, 2006 - ZANTAZ, Inc., a global leader in content archiving and eDiscovery solutions, today announced significant enhancements to its litigation support solution, ZANTAZ Introspect, allowing corporate counsel and their law firms to better manage the entire discovery process. Introspect now offers integration with Equivio's near-duplicate document grouping technology [see related release, "ZANTAZ launches near-duplicate detection offering based on Equivio technology," issued today by ZANTAZ]. Introspect also now offers both online and offline "Tiff on Demand."

"With 90 percent of U.S. corporations currently engaged in some form of litigation, and the number of mega-cases rising steadily, companies need a way to dramatically streamline the litigation lifecycle," said David Baskin, director of Discovery Management, ZANTAZ. "With 600 million document pages currently hosted and 10 years experience in the eDiscovery business, we have the expertise and solutions to help corporations and law firms do exactly that. With the addition of Equivio's near-duplicate technology and its other new features, Introspect will significantly reduce the time and cost of litigation."

Equivio detects and groups near-duplicate documents in order to streamline the search, review, and management processes. Near-duplicate files represent between 25 and 50 percent of discovery collections, and the grouping of near duplicates dramatically decreases the time and cost of the review process. It also reduces the risks of errors associated with handling large document repositories and the invalid production of key documents that are related. The integration of Introspect and Equivio was accomplished using Equivio's open architecture and detailed Software Development Kit (SDK), and the results of Equivio's near-duplicate processing are automatically uploaded into Introspect.

Introspect also now supports both Online and Offline Tiff on Demand. Online TIFF on Demand conversion has been enhanced for increased capacity and scale. Introspect is also the only product on the market featuring offline TIFF On Demand, which allows large-scale batch processing of native-to-TIFF conversion.

ZANTAZ Introspect

ZANTAZ, Introspect, which can be deployed on-site or accessed as an on-demand solution, easily scales to tens of millions of pages, thousands of cases, and hundreds of users who can quickly cull large volumes of native electronic and paper documents. Documents can be easily reviewed in their native file format, reducing the time, cost and complexity of electronic discovery.

Introspect can also be offered as a component of ZANTAZ First DiscoveryTM, a complete data collection and eDiscovery solution that automates the collection, preservation and filtering of corporate data for discovery purposes. When used together, data can be loaded directly from First Discovery into Introspect for further discovery. This combination enables customers to decrease document production and review time by as much as 20 percent and reduce overall electronic data discovery (EDD) costs by more than 50 percent while maintaining a single chain of custody. No other provider offers a single solution that guarantees a seamless chain of custody and saves companies the added steps and risk involved in passing data to multiple third-party vendors for processing and online review.
