FONDAZIONE SISTEMA TOSCANA SELECTS AUTONOMY FOR TUSCAN TOURISM PORTAL

Autonomy to power central information hub for tourism in Tuscany

Cambridge, UK, July 3, 2006 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in meaning based infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that it has been selected by Fondazione Sistema Toscana to power its new public information portal. The site will provide a central point for tourists, visitors and inhabitants of the Tuscany area, providing comprehensive information about events, activities, attractions and accommodation in the region.

Fondazione Sistema Toscana will take advantage of Autonomy's advanced technology to deliver information users require, exactly when they need it, through one central location. Autonomy's agents and advanced categorization functionalities will bring unrivalled accuracy of information classification and delivery to the user. Automatic hyperlinking will dynamically cross-reference relevant information from disparate locations within the information stores, highlighting undiscovered information to the user based on what they are looking at. The site is to cater for both Italian and English-language users.

Mauro Tanzi, President of Fondazione Sistema Toscana, declared: "Our aim was to give life to the Tuscany Official Portal, www.intoscana.it. Autonomy guarantees to our visitors the easiest and most logical way to reach the information they require. We are sure that Autonomy will bring added value to our project and we are pleased to have chosen Autonomy as our main technological partner."

The solution for Fondazione Sistema Toscana will be powered by Autonomy's core product the Intelligent Data Operating Layer or IDOL, a platform which unites and understands the meaning of electronic data, whatever its format and automates the processing of this data. For Fondazione Sistema Toscana, IDOL will bring together information from multiple stores and present it to the user through one, central portal. Autonomy is both the market share leader for enterprise search and in the exciting area of meaning based computing, and has been acknowledged as the fastest growing of the publicly traded companies in the sector.

Dr. Mike Lynch, Chief Executive Officer of Autonomy, commented, "We are very pleased to be powering this new portal for visitors and residents in Tuscany, which will take advantage of Autonomy's advanced language capabilities. Autonomy is delighted to be involved with such a prestigious project."
