The Galam Group completes smooth transition to Meridio's advanced electronic Document and Records Management system in record time

Meridio, the leading worldwide provider of enterprise Document and Records Management (eDRM) software engineered for Microsoft® .NET platforms announced today the successful completion of a major project to implement Meridio's advanced enterprise Document and Records Management (eDRM) system at the Galam Group. Because this system replaced an existing active system it was necessary to maintain continuity of information throughout the transition. The system is now fully operational and has been achieved with no interruption of business activities. The implementation was carried out by Meridio's regional partner, HP Israel.

Established in 1940, Galam is Israel's leading Fructose, Glucose and Starch manufacturer. The company provides most of the domestic industrial demand for these products, and is the largest supplier of Fructose for Europe. Galam also complements its range of products with choice imports. In recent years, the company has formed subsidiaries in several fields such as mineral fortification, brain-energizing products and others. Galam is based at Kibbutz Maanit, near Hadera.

Galam Information Systems Manager Yael Pollack stated that, "this has been a very successful project combining good technology with excellent project management and assimilation capabilities and a follow-on training and support program at the organization, working with the local supplier, HP Israel. The successful transition from the old system to the new one, with significant technological advancement, contributed greatly to the success of the project."

The project which started in September 2005 was carried out in accordance with a stringent and high quality methodological process covering solution requirements, definition of needs and designing and building the organizational file plan to developing the solution in a .NET environment, implementation and system acceptance plus the training the users and the provision on going service and support.

As part of the process, a program for automatic conversion of all the documents from the old system to the new one was developed and the synchronization of keywords was performed via the organizational ERP system and synchronization of users was performed via the Active Directory, for central management. Anat Mendelovich, Microsoft Solutions Manager at HP Israel, said that "the project has been completed successfully and the Galam Group has gained a tool for data sharing among employees, based on an innovative and easy-to-operate technology which combines standard Office and Outlook, with state-of-the-art eDRM capabilities. HP's organized and proven methodology for assimilating Meridio systems will soon be duplicated among additional customers in the Israeli market, and will provide them with an advance solution for managing the organizational knowledge core."

HP Israel recently signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Meridio to distribute Meridio's eDRM software and provide implementation services in Israel. The joint activity is expected to exceed five million shekels annually.

Alex Canonero, Meridio Regional Sales Director, said "HP and Meridio have been able to deliver an excellent system to meet Galam's need very quickly, demonstrating the quality of the product and the effectiveness of HP's implementation skills. We look forward to partnering on many more success projects delivering fast return on investment to organizations in Israel."
