Derby City Council choose Meridio for Enterprise Document and Records Management (eDRM)

Meridio to be a core part of Derby's Strategic IT Framework and Business Transformation Programme.

London June 9, 2006 – Meridio, the leading worldwide provider of enterprise Document and Records Management (eDRM) software engineered for Microsoft® .NET platforms announced today that Derby City Council have signed a software and services agreement with Meridio. The agreement will see Meridio eDRM implemented as a core element of their Strategic IT Framework. Derby's Strategic IT framework is a service oriented architecture that replaces a number of disparate systems with a unified set of generic services, built around a standard infrastructure capable of serving the entire city.

Meridio meets the e-Derby requirement for an enterprise-wide document and records management system which will securely manage all the vital business documents and records for the council and also ensure integration and reuse of accurate information with many line-of-business applications.

David Gale, Strategic Architect for Derby said 'Meridio was chosen because their technology is the best fit for our functional and architectural needs. Meridio really understands our strategic plans and has demonstrated commitment to helping us achieve major business benefits. During the next two or three years we will see major benefits both in terms of lower IT investment costs and also a contribution to wider business efficiencies such as those required under the Gershon Report'. Gale continued, 'The e-Derby framework is the foundation for new business solutions such as our Customer Service Information System, which provides a single point of contact for the delivery of multi-agency services to the residents of Derby. The extensible nature of our framework allows us to offer these services to other organisations, driving service efficiencies and improvements across the region'.

Meridio is the leading supplier of electronic record management software to Government organizations and is widely deployed in Central Government organizations including the Home Office, MOD, US Airforce, Dept. of Constitutional Affairs, Land Registry (HMLR), Highland Council and the Isle of Man Government. Meridio's strategy is to deliver rich, scalable document and records management solutions in support of Corporate Governance initiatives related to Legislation, Process Improvements and Litigation.

'Meridio continues to be developed through extensive research and feedback from our broad base of customers and are we very pleased to be working with Derby on this strategic project which will clearly demonstrate the value of an enterprise approach to electronic records management in Local Government', said Mark Brannigan, Business Development Manager - Meridio EMEA.
