ZANTAZĀ® Announces the Industry's First Fully Integrated Mailbox Management and Hosting Storage Solution

  • Increases control of information through a single, highly scalable archive environment
  • Reduces archiving costs by more than 30 percent while increasing cost predictability
  • Manages risk by centralizing data for electronic discovery and compliance

PLEASANTON, Calif. (March 15, 2006) - ZANTAZ, Inc., the global leader in Information Retention and Discovery Management (IRDM) solutions, today announced First Archiveā„¢ On Demand, the integration of two of its award-winning applications combining mailbox/file management capabilities and hosted compliance archiving. Previously, companies had the choice of an onsite mailbox management solution or a hosted archive. ZANTAZ First Archive On Demand now seamlessly combines mailbox management with hosted storage in a single solution that allows customers to better control the risks and costs associated with archiving and retrieving digital information.

Representing a new approach for mailbox management, ZANTAZ First Archive On Demand allows organizations to lower the risk associated with managing digital information, while reducing their total cost of ownership by more than 30 percent as compared to traditional on-site mailbox management solutions. Companies reduce risk through the ability to delegate the management and backing up of data stores that contain business-critical information to a trusted third-party with nearly 9 billion emails currently under management.

Savings are achieved by lowering administration and storage costs, providing a built-in continuity of business solution, and centralizing data in a single document store for efficient management and discovery. The solution can also be extended to include content supervision, electronic discovery and litigation support.

"Email management is a growing challenge for most organizations. End users are forced to spend time managing their email inboxes, compliance departments struggle to meet regulatory and corporate governance requirements, and legal departments are inundated with discovery requests," said Doug Chandler, Program Director, Compliance Infrastructure, IDC. "ZANTAZ First Archive On Demand is designed to help organizations streamline their digital information management, allowing administrative and storage resources to be re-deployed."

"ZANTAZ is the first company to enable organizations to proactively manage their email systems with a proven and scalable hosted compliance archiving solution that also offers fail-safe mailbox management," said Steve King, president and CEO of ZANTAZ. "This unique, highly flexible solution helps customers meet the challenge of managing the explosive growth in email volume while dealing with the increasingly complex requirements posed by regulatory compliance and legal discovery."

ZANTAZ First Archive On Demand features:

  • ZANTAZ EAS as the email management interface to Outlook that archives the messages to the ZANTAZ Digital Safe (support for Notes available soon)
  • ZANTAZ Digital Safe Split Cell architecture, which delivers data to two geographically separate locations, ensuring business continuity
  • Full compliance with regulatory or internal policies and retention requirements
  • Messages are archived in their native format, enabling storage of text formatting and extended metadata

About IRDM

IRDM is accomplished when archiving and compliance "Information Retention" (IR) solutions are seamlessly integrated with electronic discovery and litigation support "Discovery Management" (DM) solutions. Such an approach is critical to enterprises that wish to better manage the risk of their electronic communication. To realize the full benefits of "IR," corporations need to proactively retain live data such as emails and IM, as well as archive paper and legacy data as electronic records. The next step is to utilize an integrated discovery management "DM" solution that seamlessly accepts this archived data for the purposes of searching, manipulating, and sharing this information during investigative or legal requests. Together, an IRDM solution allows large enterprises to reduce operational risks and costs, comply with legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements, and ultimately avoid costly reactive discovery processes and steep penalties.
