Cambridge, UK - March 6, 2006 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that its SoftSound division offers the world’s most accurate real-time speech recognition technology for Arabic, Mandarin and Russian. Not only do its advanced capabilities more than equal existing competitors’ claims, but its performance in recognizing the Russian language is unique. Standard evaluation corpora created by the US Government were used to test the technology in Cambridge, UK, and Massachusetts, USA. One of the key advantages of the SoftSound system is that it has a much smaller hardware requirement than any other speech recognition engine that operates in real-time.
