Interwoven Reinforces Professional Services Solutions Leadership by Winning Coveted Customer 'Implementation of the Year' Award
ECM solutions leader receives Legal Technology Award for enabling Pinsent Masons to successfully consolidate client files, streamline business processes, and enhance client service following merger
SUNNYVALE, Calif - February 21, 2006 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for business, today announced that it has been awarded Legal Business Magazine's coveted Legal Technology Award in the category of "Implementation of the Year," further reinforcing the company's continued technology leadership within the professional services industry. Interwoven was recognized for its exemplary role in enabling Pinsent Masons, a top UK-based law firm, to successfully consolidate client files in a single, unified document management system, streamline business processes, and further enhance client service following the earlier merger of the two firms Pinsent and Masons.
The Legal Technology Awards are sponsored in association with Legal Business, the leading magazine for UK law firm leaders, and recognize technology providers for excellence in the provision and implementation of solutions for the benefit of legal firms. Winners are determined based on the highest number of votes received from Legal Business Magazine readers, representing actual end users of the nominated technology solutions. According to the award association, "without the continued advances in legal technology, law firms would not be able to offer their clients immediate access to the precise, up-to-date information they require. The efficiencies gained by ever-improving systems and services underpin the drive for profitability of today's commercial law firms." Interwoven's receipt of this prestigious award strongly reinforces its ongoing commitment to empowering professional services organizations to improve client experience through the efficient management of client files and the streamlining of key business processes.
After merging in December 2004, Pinsent Masons was faced with the challenge of consolidating client documents, e-mails, and other client content from two different document management systems into a single unified environment. Based on Interwoven's strong reputation within the professional services market, proven ROI, and best-in-class ease-of-use, the decision was made to standardize on Interwoven's Engagement/Matter-Centric Collaboration solution, which is powered by Interwoven WorkSite 8 software. As a result, in only 60 days, the newly-merged firm was able to successfully consolidate over 6.7 million documents within the Interwoven solution, enabling over 1,000 users across 11 offices to access a central, collaborative document management environment containing all client-related content. The end result has been more rapid and easy access to client information for an optimal client experience.
"When we merged, it was a daunting task to bring all of our client information into one system, but the Interwoven solution enabled us to accomplish this extremely quickly and with ease," said Colin Smith, director of Information Technology at Pinsent Masons. "Now, with Interwoven in place across the entire firm, we can ensure that we provide our clients with the best possible experience since our lawyers and staff can effectively manage the client file throughout its entire lifecycle in one central location. Interwoven is truly deserving of this award for the high degree of operational efficiency and client satisfaction that they have helped us to achieve."
Today, more than 1,400 law firms, corporate legal departments, and other professional services firms worldwide rely on Interwoven's award-winning Engagement/Matter-Centric Collaboration solution to manage the complete client file including e-mails, documents, images, and more. Currently, 63 percent of the Am Law 100 firms (the definitive rankings of the largest American law firms) depend on Interwoven to address their everyday content management needs. And, in Europe, Interwoven's industry leadership includes: 3 of the top 5 law firms in The Netherlands; 3 of the top 4 law firms in Spain; 3 of the top 5 law firms in France; and more top UK law firms than any other ECM vendor.
"Receiving this prestigious award is strong validation of Interwoven's commitment to providing professional services firms with the industry's most robust, end-to-end solution for the management of client files, and for ensuring the best possible client experience," said Neil Araujo, vice president professional services solutions at Interwoven. "Furthermore, what makes this award an even greater honor is the fact that it is based on the votes of our customers themselves, who are using our solutions for improved processes in their firms everyday. It's clear that Interwoven's focus on performance, ease-of-use, and modeling technology after the way professional services users actually work, is delivering real benefit to our customers."
