SUTTER HEALTH SELECTS AUTONOMY FOR MARKET INTELLIGENCE TECHNOLOGY

Sunnyvale, Calif. - Feb. 15, 2006 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AUTN.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced that Autonomy has been selected by Sutter Health, a leading network of 26 not-for-profit hospitals as well as physician organizations and other health care service providers, to provide its Strategy and Business Development group with technology to accurately automate the capture, analysis and dissemination of marketplace intelligence.

Sutter Health chose Autonomy's IDOL technology to automatically categorize marketplace news and other information into an electronic knowledge repository so intelligence can be queried and distributed to drive strategic discovery and reporting. Through Autonomy's hyperlinking feature, decision-makers can instantly connect to matching information and investigate the associations between content. For broader trend analysis, Sutter Health will use Autonomy's technology to identify patterns within information and gain new insights and understanding of that information.

“The effective analysis of marketplace information is critical for all dynamic organizations, particularly in the fast changing healthcare industry,” said Stouffer Eagan, Autonomy's Chief Strategy Officer. “Using Autonomy's IDOL technology, Sutter Health's Strategy and Business Development team will be well-equipped to manage its relevant research and intelligence material in a more timely and efficient manner, allowing the organization to better understand the needs of its customers and react dynamically to the latest healthcare market developments.”

Jim Harrison, Vice President of Business Intelligence at Sutter Health said, "Autonomy is critical for us as we work to deliver the right information, at the right time, to the right people. Our Strategy and Business Development teams generate and handle vast amounts of information on a continual basis. While this information can provide great insight and benefits to the organization, it is a challenge to effectively manage and access this growing volume of data. Through the use of Autonomy technology, we will be able to quickly and accurately harness all our information and realize its full potential."

As the volume of information continues to expand, organizations often struggle to effectively monitor and analyze market developments with robust intelligence tools and techniques. At the heart of the challenge is the inability of most enterprises to leverage information technology to automate the processing of unstructured information. Adding to the challenge of access and visibility, today's enterprises are also operating in an increasingly tight window for decision-making. Internal and external events now transpire in a matter of days; not weeks or months. For corporate intelligence professionals, the time available to review information and determine its relevance in connection with key performance indicators, business intelligence and reputational risk is shorter than ever.

Autonomy's strength lies in having the unique ability to combine technologies that use advanced pattern-matching techniques and conceptual analysis to extract meaning from any piece of text, speech or video. The technology leverages this understanding to automate a variety of tasks including retrieval, categorization, summarization, personalization, hyperlinking and alerting, among others.

Autonomy's Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) provides a framework around the core technology, which integrates unstructured, semi-structured and structured information from multiple repositories. Access will be provided through Autonomy's Portal-in-a-Box and Enterprise Desktop Search platforms.
