PLEASANTON, Calif. (February 14, 2006) - ZANTAZ, Inc., the global leader in Information Retention and Discovery Management (IRDM) solutions, continues to be the leader in email archiving, accounting for 27 percent of the revenue in this rapidly growing market, according to IDC's "Worldwide Email Archiving Applications 2005-2009 Forecast and 2004 Vendor Shares: When You Need to Know That You've Got Mail, Doc #34540, December 2005. The new recently released report provides a top-down sizing of the global email archiving market. Based on email archiving applications delivered as software, a hosted service or an appliance, the report offers a forecast for the 2005-2009 market along with leading vendor revenue and market share data from 2004.

The Leader in a Fast-Growing Market

According to IDC, the email archiving applications market totaled $193 million in 2004, up 96 percent from the prior year's revenue of $98 million. The growth of email and email attachments coupled with an increased awareness of regulatory compliance and corporate governance issues are major factors contributing to the explosive growth of the market.

"IDC's report is a testament to how valuable ZANTAZ' proven email archiving solutions are to customers," said Steve King, President and CEO of ZANTAZ. "By providing unique solutions that fulfill information retention and discovery management needs, we're able to solve some of the most critical data retention and retrieval issues facing companies today."

E-Discovery Helping Drive Growth

IDC also reports that email discovery and litigation support ranked as one of the top 5 critical end-user drivers that organizations cite when purchasing email archiving solutions. King continues, "ZANTAZ continues to be ahead of the trend in delivering information retention products that seamlessly integrate with discovery management solutions. Through our IRDM offering, we provide a set of solutions that enable customers to efficiently manage their electronic documents while also allowing them to quickly respond to discovery and litigation requests."

"Email has taken over as the communication standard for conducting business," said Vivian Tero, Senior Analyst, Compliance Infrastructure, IDC. "Regulators now recognize electronic documents and messages as critical records of business and are mandating the proper retention and management of these records. ZANTAZ understands this critical need and provides its customers with integrated solutions that can help them not only capture this information but produce it in a timely manner."

About IRDM

IRDM is accomplished when archiving and compliance "Information Retention" (IR) solutions are seamlessly integrated with electronic discovery and litigation support "Discovery Management" (DM) solutions. Such an approach is critical to enterprises that wish to better manage the risk of their electronic communication. To realize the full benefits of "IR," corporations need to proactively retain live data such as emails and IM, as well as archive paper and legacy data as electronic records. The next step is to utilize an integrated discovery management "DM" solution that seamlessly accepts this archived data for the purposes of searching, manipulating, and sharing this information during investigative or legal requests. Together, an IRDM solution allows large enterprises to reduce operational risks and costs, comply with legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements, and ultimately avoid costly reactive discovery processes and steep penalties.
