Interwoven and Kofax Deepen Partnership with Reseller Agreement, Providing Enterprises Seamless Integration of Imaging and Information Capture with Interwoven ECM Solutions
nterwoven to Resell Kofax Ascent Capture, Providing an End-to-End ECM Solution from a Single Vendor for the Unified Management of Paper and Electronic Content
SUNNYVALE and IRVINE, Calif. - January 26, 2006 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for business, and Kofax (LSE: DCM.L), the world's largest information capture vendor, today announced a deepened partnership through a new reseller agreement to provide enterprises with seamless integration of imaging and information capture capabilities with Interwoven ECM solutions. Under the new agreement, Interwoven will resell the Kofax Ascent Capture product, providing customers an end-to-end ECM solution from a single vendor to reduce costs and improve efficiencies through the unified management of paper and electronic content.
As enterprises today struggle to gain control over the explosive growth of unstructured content-including managing both paper and electronic content in an integrated environment-imaging and information capture technology is playing an increasingly important role. In fact, according to Forrester Research, imaging and information capture is expected to reach $1.38B by 2008, and will play a critical role as companies strive to address emerging compliance mandates that impose strict information retention and management rules, such as Sarbanes-Oxley.1
By extending their partnership, Interwoven and Kofax are enabling enterprises to more effectively manage and leverage their content across the entire organization. For example, business users across an enterprise can now more easily bring both paper and electronic content into a highly scalable ECM environment including: capturing any paper document directly into Interwoven; filing documents at the time they are captured into the most appropriate electronic folder within Interwoven; declaring, archiving, and retrieving documents as records; automatically distributing content to other business users; and initiating workflow processes for collaboration among work teams. By importing paper content into the Interwoven system where it can be easily distributed to the appropriate business channels, enterprises can ensure the efficient reuse of content-regardless of format-rather than having to expend time and effort to recreate existing content that is either too difficult, or impossible, to locate.
Joint Interwoven and Kofax customers who are already realizing the benefits of imaging and information capture within a unified ECM environment include: Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, Visa International, Weingarten Reality, HealthSouth, City of Baltimore, Arkema Group, City of San Antonio, and many others. With the joint solution, these customers are automating a number of core business processes across the enterprise such as accounts payable, claims processing, legal document processing, contract management, and complying with regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley.
"With over 1 million images, 10,000 scans per day and regional offices from coast to coast, we needed an enterprise solution to manage our document requirements," said Lee Pearson, vice president and CIO at Weingarten Reality. "Kofax and Interwoven have provided a powerful platform that enables Weingarten to enhance our business users' productivity and effectiveness in accomplishing our goals."
Under the reseller agreement, Kofax Ascent Capture will be integrated with Interwoven's Web Content Management, Document Management, and Content Intelligence offerings. Through the tight integration of Kofax with Interwoven Content Intelligence, users can increase the efficiency and accuracy of their content retrieval and reuse since metadata-information about content-is automatically applied to content to help users more accurately file and search for content.
"Interwoven and Kofax have been successfully working together for over five years now, and we are enthusiastic about the new opportunities that this deepened relationship brings," said Max Carnecchia, senior vice president of worldwide sales at Interwoven. "For our customers, it will be simpler than ever to deploy a complete solution for the effective management of all their unstructured content, generating increased opportunities for greater productivity and collaboration enterprise-wide."
"With such an established history of working with our certified solution providers (CSPs) and co-selling our solutions into joint accounts, we're thrilled to be extending our relationship with Interwoven," said Richard Bosworth, vice president of sales at Kofax. "We recognize Interwoven as a true ECM solutions leader, and we're looking forward to playing such an integral role in providing our joint customers with an end-to-end content management solution, enabling them to effectively gain control of and leverage all of their paper and electronic content across the organization."
