Verity's Continuing Commitment to ISVs and Systems Integrators Unmatched

Offers Broadest Array of High Quality, Highly Reliable, Easy to Integrate Search, Classification, Viewing, Filtering, and BPM Technologies

Verity OEM Program Marks More Than a Decade of Partnering Excellence

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Nov. 16, 2005 - With the longest-running, highest-regarded OEM partnership program in its category about to mark more than 10 years of operation, Verity Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of business search and process management (BPM) software, today announced the latest releases of its OEM application components for independent software vendors (ISV) and systems integrators (SI), including the new version of its award-winning Verity® K2 Developer, a specialized search applications development platform, Verity® KeyView® viewing, filtering and conversion software development kits (SDK) and Verity® LiquidBPM, a workflow SDK.

Verity technologies have been offered on an OEM basis since the company was founded in 1988 and will remain a key component of the company's product strategy going forward. "OEM continues to be a significant part of Verity's business and we see no reason for that to change. Our experience, range of support as well as ongoing commitment to OEM and channel partnerships are unmatched," said Anthony J. Bettencourt, Verity's chief executive officer.

Verity understands that the challenge for ISVs and SIs to produce applications with more and better capabilities, faster and for less money is greater than ever. Verity OEM technologies can enhance the performance or expand the functionality of any software application while reducing the cost and time needed to bring it to market. Through Verity's long-running OEM Program, ISVs and SIs have a dependable partner that delivers far more than advanced technology. Verity's flexible partner program is designed to meet each OEM's unique business needs. It provides access to evaluation software, dedicated technical support, integration expertise, training and marketing programs.

A highlight of the program is the OEM Executive Advisory Board Meeting, an annual gathering of senior executives from selected partners. The OEM Executive Advisory Board Meeting provides a venue for the exchange of ideas, opinions and discussion on future technology trends. This open dialog often results in OEM customer suggestions becoming key components of new Verity product releases. The company's sixth annual OEM meeting will be held in the spring of 2006.

The success of Verity's OEM Program and its software development toolkits is evidenced by the more than 260 applications using its technologies, more than any other vendor in the market Verity serves. OEM partners include CipherTrust, FileNet, IDX, Kana, Lotus, Oracle, TIBCO and Xerox among many others.

"Verity LiquidBPM powers DocuShare Enterprise Workflow and provides the flexibility and integration Xerox needs when we deploy DocuShare across large enterprises, enhancing Xerox's ability to help customers work better with greater productivity," said David Smith, Xerox DocuShare's business unit vice president.

Recognized as the benchmark in several areas, Verity OEM products' reliability, ease of integration and breadth of platform support are without peer. Verity offers a wide array of technology choices for OEMs including search, classification, recommendation, filtering, viewing, conversion and workflow.
