(NASDAQ: VRTY) today announced the availability of the newest release of its specialized search application development platform, Verity® K2 Enterprise (K2E). Version 6.0 includes a new Business Console to enhance relevance management, a new User Interface Building Blocks feature that accelerates deployment and improved navigation to let users easily browse and search on attributes and text.
Recognized by global customers as the benchmark for business search platforms, Verity K2E 6.0 can now be deployed, administered and maintained at measurably lower costs with the product's new User Interface Building Blocks, new Business Console and a redesigned K2 Dashboard.

Quicker Deployment, Reduced Costs
K2E's new User Interface Building Blocks deliver a robust set of out-of-the-box widgets for basic and advanced search, as well as attribute and category browsing that greatly reduce the amount of application development required. Furthermore, through the new Business Console, IT administrators can configure the User Interface Building Blocks without additional programming to faster and better meet a business' search requirements. The redesigned K2 Dashboard streamlines administration by providing IT administrators with a single system view of their entire K2 deployment, including multiple servers.
In addition, with the new User Interface Building Blocks, IT administrators can now deploy Faceted Navigation user interfaces that provide an intuitive and relevant end-user search experience that combine taxonomy browsing, attribute browsing and text search.
Enhanced End-User Experience
Verity K2E's new Business Console enables IT administrators and business managers to view search trends, react quickly to changing search patterns, and provide targeted results to end-users. In addition, the Business Console can be integrated with Verity® Collaborative Classifier, a K2E capability that distributes taxonomy management to the people who know and use the content with knowledge engineers who specialize in classification. This better allows taxonomies to be created and managed in real-time.
New and Improved Search Innovations
Verity K2E 6.0 includes many new search features that make it even easier for end-users to find the information they need. New XML query capabilities fully leverage the structure of XML documents, improving search relevance. This new version of the Verity Search family's specialized search applications development platform also provides enhanced content support for access to business data. Microsoft Outlook email and attachments, such as PST archives, can now be indexed and searched, as can individual files within a ZIP archive. Connectivity to enterprise content sources has also been enhanced with support for Microsoft Exchange 2003 and support for Documentum compound documents.
Verity K2E includes a new robust and reliable Web crawling feature, Ultra Spider, which enables 24x7x365 indexing to be configured through a Web-based wizard interface. IT administrators can now easily define index's starting points, add or remove content from the index and easily manage indexing tasks. The result: Better search relevance for end users.
