AUTONOMY ANNOUNCES COMPLETION AND UPCOMING PRE LAUNCH OF BLINKX CHINA SEARCH SERVICE

Index now completed; Chinese joint venture first to bring video search and implicit query to the rapidly expanding Chinese market

Cambridge, England - 20 October 2005 - Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise, today announced the completion by Autonomy's Chinese joint venture blinkx China of its service, and that within the next two weeks blinkx China will undertake a test launch of the next generation of consumer internet technologies for the Chinese market. The newly launched test service will be the first in the Chinese market to offer full content video search and advanced features such as implicit query. Video content in the test service includes over 10,000 hours of archived news and entertainment from more than 50 sources.

Xin Wu, blinkx China co-founder commented: "We are extremely pleased with the upcoming test launch of blinkx China. With this launch Chinese users will have access for the first time to deep archives of video content and other advanced information retrieval features." Mr. Wu continued, "We expect to soon officially launch the service into the broader market. With the completion of our conceptual index of the Chinese Web blinkx China is poised to enter the leading ranks of Chinese internet services. During the next few months blinkx China will continue to bring to Chinese consumers the latest technology innovations."
