ZANTAZĀ® Advances its Leadership Position in Information Retention and Discovery Management with the ZANTAZ EAS 4.2 Release
Further Integration of Email/File Archiving and Discovery Management Solutions Will Lower Risk and Litigation-related Costs for Enterprises Worldwide
PLEASANTON, CA (OCTOBER 3, 2005) - With the release of ZANTAZ EAS 4.2, ZANTAZ, Inc., the global leader in Information Retention and Discovery Management (IRDM) solutions, today announced the next step in executing on its vision for a seamlessly integrated IRDM solution.
ZANTAZ EAS 4.2 builds on the industry-leading ZANTAZ EAS (Enterprise Archive Solution), an Information Retention (IR) solution that enables organizations to create efficient, searchable archives for the retention, management, and control of corporate email. The 4.2 release provides the tools to enable organizations of any size to securely search and package this digital information for ingestion by Discovery Management (DM) applications designed for complex litigation and regulatory projects. The key driver of this process is EAS Discovery, a new product introduced in 4.2 that allows a user to pre-process data in the ZANTAZ EAS archive and put this data into PST packets. These PST packets can then be extracted into a wide range of electronic discovery solutions, including the industry-leading ZANTAZ Introspect.
"In the last year, we've made significant progress in making IRDM a reality for our customers," said Joe Romanowski, Vice President of Product Strategy with ZANTAZ. "ZANTAZ EAS Discovery puts us on our way to fully integrating our archiving products with discovery management solutions-and this is just the beginning. In the coming months, we expect to announce other achievements that will create a fully integrated solution to further streamline the archiving and discovery management process for our customers. This will ensure chain-of-custody is maintained throughout the discovery process and ultimately lower risk and cost for customers-from data capture to production for legal and regulatory purposes."
Customer need for a comprehensive IRDM solution is at an all-time high. Increasingly enterprises are facing penalties for their inability to preserve emails and comply with legal injunctions to quickly produce them. Having an IRDM solution helps mitigate this risk by ensuring that electronic data can be quickly, completely, and accurately produced to meet urgent needs. High return on investment (ROI) is also an IRDM solution benefit, as the integration of IR and DM solutions can save organizations 40-60 percent on data processing costs, as compared with separating the two functions. Finally, an IRDM solution helps streamline legal activities, allowing lawyers to more effectively negotiate what data set must be discovered and efficiently manage the process from beginning to end.
The ZANTAZ IRDM Vision
The 4.2 release is a necessary step toward the creation of a fully integrated IRDM offering, which will be accomplished when archiving and compliance, "Information Retention" (IR) solutions, are seamlessly integrated with electronic discovery and litigation support, "Discovery Management" (DM) solutions. The ZANTAZ IRDM vision is to provide this seamless integration by tying together products and services delivered by the same company. Such an integrated IRDM solution would ensure that chain-of-custody is maintained throughout the discovery process and further enhance the cost savings, processing and workflow benefits delivered, as data would efficiently travel from one application to the other.
