Verity and IDX Expand OEM Technology Relationship For Healthcare Document Management
IDX Flowcast Solution to Integrate Verity TeleForm Content Capture Software; Handles Wider Range of Imaging Needs
SUNNYVALE, Calif - 2005-08-15 - Verity Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTY), a leading provider of enterprise search software that enables organizations to discover, analyze and process all the digital information within their enterprises, today announced an expansion of its technology agreement with IDX Systems Corporation, which uses information technology to enhance the delivery of healthcare.
Under terms of the agreement, IDX will integrate Verity(r) TeleForm(r) content capture software with the IDX(r) Flowcast(tm) solution, an innovative approach for managing the business of healthcare in hospitals, integrated delivery networks (IDNs) and large physician group practices. Flowcast offers robust financial and administrative capabilities to improve revenue cycle management across an organization.
The Flowcast Electronic Document Management (EDM) solution is tightly integrated with Flowcast's revenue cycle workflow. This unique integration provides users with the right information at the right time, expediting their work.
"Verity TeleForm serves as a bridging mechanism that brings a widening range of images and data into Flowcast," said Jeff Kao, senior vice president and general manager, IDX Flowcast Operating Unit. "This expanded OEM relationship, encompassing all of TeleForm's capabilities, enhances Flowcast's ability to help customers reduce costs and improve productivity. It allows IDX to focus on workflow integration while offering Flowcast customers Verity's industry-leading tools for handling the transition of information from paper-based forms and documents to electronic data and images."
IDX sought a broader relationship with Verity because of its customers and prospects' increasing business demands for image and content capture support. After an extensive search, IDX concluded that these needs could be best met by TeleForm. "Based on our evaluation and feedback from customers, the quality, reliability and scalability of Verity TeleForm will serve Flowcast users well as they move to less paper-intensive healthcare practices and operations," said Kao.
"Large healthcare organizations handle a huge number of forms and documents every day," said Mark Seamans, Verity's senior vice president of worldwide product development. "The Flowcast solution with Verity TeleForm integrated into the workflow will be better able to help large-scale organizations deal quickly and accurately with all types of content requiring advanced optical character recognition and other imaging processing."
Verity TeleForm is a high-accuracy, high-throughput automated content capture system that reduces the operating costs associated with document indexing and manual data entry, increases efficiency and provides an on-ramp for back-office applications, such as Web-based content and document management, ERP and CRM systems. The product is developed on a secure, enterprise-class architecture that scales to meet the business objectives of any size company, from small organizations with single workstations to global Fortune 500 corporations with enterprise-wide deployments and multiple back-end repositories.
