ZANTAZĀ® Named Top Five Provider in Socha-Gelbmann 2005 Electronic Discovery Survey

ZANTAZ Jumps to Top Five From Top Twenty in One Year

PLEASANTON, CA (July 25, 2005) - ZANTAZ, Inc., the global leader in Information Retention and Discovery Management (IRDM) solutions, has been ranked a Top Five Provider in the prestigious 2005 Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery Survey. Additionally, the survey placed the ZANTAZ Introspect solution in the Top Ten Software Products used by end-users in 2004.

The survey reported that the electronic discovery market is projected to grow to $1.28 billion in 2005 - a 55 percent jump over 2004. With the rising number of cases involving electronic documents and discovery, legal teams are increasingly confronted with staggering cost and complexity when managing the discovery process. By comprehensively addressing these challenges through its IRDM solutions, ZANTAZ jumped from a Top 20 Provider in 2003 to a Top 5 Provider in 2004.

"The scope, quality and depth of a provider's offerings must stand out for the provider to be named as a Top Five Provider in the survey," said George J. Socha, Jr., of Socha Consulting LLC. "While we look at the data in a number of ways, our Top Five Providers must have received specific mention from consumer respondents as well as generate significant revenue as proof that respondents are voting with their checkbooks."

ZANTAZ' electronic discovery and litigation support solutions provide a unified workflow that enables law firms and corporations to save considerable time and money when managing discovery requests related to hundreds or thousands of smaller cases, or large cases involving tens of millions of pages. Legal and IT personnel are able to quickly and securely capture, preserve and access potentially discoverable data as well as review and produce relevant documents for legal and regulatory compliance. ZANTAZ electronic discovery services, which adhere to strict chain-of-custody protocols, include tape restoration, deduplication, filtering and complex searching. The ZANTAZ Introspect litigation support solution offers a full-featured online review and production application that manages native files, images, transcripts and documents from opposing counsel.

"Clients depend upon ZANTAZ' flexible approach to discovery management which facilitates discovery at various levels in the workflow," said Joe Romanowski, Vice President of Product Strategy, ZANTAZ. "Based on the nature of the request, we can process tape using highly automated restoration procedures, or search our proactive email repository, in addition to providing comprehensive online review and production management. In short, ZANTAZ can virtually eliminate expensive electronic data discovery processing, saving our clients significant time and expense while lowering risk through a single-vendor chain of custody."

The Socha-Gelbmann survey examines the demand for electronic discovery services and software. Sixty-nine law firms, large corporations and electronic discovery providers participated through interviews and a self-paced survey. Socha-Gelbmann also collected information from websites of more than 200 organizations purporting to offer electronic discovery services or software, as well as data from a variety of business and information resources, to reach its conclusions.

The annual survey ranked providers on a set of five criteria: experience and reputation, capacity, types of services offered, consumer ranking, and revenue estimates. The final results were based on a weighted combination of the five criteria, with the Top Five Providers being listed in alphabetical order, without identifying individual ranking within the group.
